India, he's a friend of mine in our engineering department here. He's a lovely guy, and is always bringing me little gifts and treats. In fact I just started getting subscriptions to Sound and Vision and a photography magazine, turns out they were from him. I've done a little computer work on his personal computers, so I guess that's why. I kinda feel bad, I don't expect anything in return when I help friends like that.

Wish I had some chronic or apple tobacco to put in this pipe though. :smoke:

That's pretty cool man... You are right the first time its Buddha.

The ones' my path have crossed, were mostly elderly. We were in one of the shit hole of the world. They are pretty cool people. I enjoyed there talks of old times and there cooking hehe. The world sure have changed. But they were the kind of people that repay kindness in kindness. It was hard to believe that even in that kind of conflictive area they thought so good and kind towards the world.

He and I have been in an argument for at least 9 months over a restaurant check. Every time we would go to lunch at the local Indian place he would pay. Even sneaking off to pay before the check would appear. So I said

Buddhism was originally an off shoot of Hindu.

And Scrubbin, he wasn't referring to geography, he meant spiritually. He wanted to come back as a higher class. ie if he is a Vaishyas(Merchant) now he come back as a Kshatriyas(warrior or noble) or a Brahmin(priest or holy man).

Hmmm...most indians I've met (hindi's or whatever) are assholes.

Must be because they're stuck in Canada where they're not used to all this cold stuff.

This guy is awesome. Friendly and warm, always smiling. He's an interesting dude too - he's been to base camp at Mt. Everest, hiked to the top of Kilimanjaro, etc.
