I'll be more interested with another additional price cut and ~10-15 DECENT games.

This makes the PS3 that much more attractive -- it's just too bad it's so ugly already. :) They do need some games before I'd commit nearly that money to yet another console at this time.

There's also some new speculation of an Xbox 360 price cut.

its doesnt seem bad at all when you consider the cheapest blu-ray players are around 500$

wow that was a quick price cut. Frankly, I'd be pissed if I I already bought one before the price cut. I agree, though, $500 is absurd. I still only have a PS2. Gonna be a while until I upgrade.

No they don't. I can vouch that the upscaling makes a large difference. Especially with the firmware update that Miller just posted.

That's the first rebuttal I hear when someone comments on the price of the PS3.

"Well, the Blu-Ray player pays for itself".

Most people want it for what it is, a gaming console. I don't know, maybe it's just me. But if I were looking for a Blu-Ray player, PS3 would be on top of my list.

I'm not even considering Blue Ray or HD DVD until...

    1) ...a clear format winner has been decided,
    2) the players are under 200 bucks,
    3) and the library of available movies is larger and less expensive.

So yeah, 2-3 more years probably. I could care less about the PS3 so the price cut means nothing to me.

I have no experience with HD-DVD, but I recently bought Pirates of the Caribbean: Black Pearl on Blu-Ray and it looks amazing at 1080p. It's hard to go back to DVD once you see the clarity on Blu-Ray. I'm sure HD-DVD looks just as good, but I'm not dishing out money for an add-on to the 360.

I know for sure that I'll be making my future purchases on Blu-Ray.

I couldn't believe it when I read it. I mean, I guess it's not completely out of the question, just not so damn soon.

I thoroughly enjoy the PS3 that I bought but this decision is just ridiculous on Sony's part. It's crazy enough that they probably think all this bad rep is their way of being popular or something.

    Dumb move, Sony.

I was watching G4TV and they said that SCEE said there isn't a removal of the 60 GB's and that Reeves was misinformed or gave misinformed information.

    Who knows though.

Don't listen to G4TV, they get their news from the internet, and most times it is right at that moment. What they didn't account for was all the other sources directly from Kaz and the fact that even SCEA retracted is retraction haha.
