Well, he probably will go to prison.

Sad, but just another story of an organization protecting it's own. Catholic Church anyone?

Good grief, he was molesting a teenage boy? Poking anyone underage is of course appalling, but somehow the homo violation is even more disturbing.

What a fucking creep. If he goes to jail he's going get shanked pretty fast. I predict suicide.

So buggering little boys is OK as long as they had a strong coaching staff? Obviously there was evidence of a cover-up or these two wouldn't have gotten the ax.

Hey, what's more important? A little pedophilia, or WINNING FOOTBALL! *riots*

Students + alcohol = any reason is a good reason to riot. :p

Paterno has been coaching at PSU for over half a century, they expected the students to remain quiet? That guy has a bigger following than Jesus.

Yeah rioting is an excellent idea. Douche. You failed to mention that the students rioted BECAUSE the coach was fired. Nice twist. They all should be fired and hopefully have charges against them if they covered it up. Jail time is fine with me.

canaries are starting to sing.. when you get into pedophilia, it gets much deeper and much weirder because it involves ALOT of MONEY, and the rich weirdo pedos are about to get put on front street.

im expecting a huge uprooting of whats been going on.. people are gonna start talking, kids are gonna come out the woodwork, its about to be a bigger mess.

and we need to do away with sports period. the brainwashing thats been done is obvious from the rioting. its nuts. its rediculous.
too much money is involved and all it does is separate men. we're already separated enough.

    this is rediculous.

The last sentence of your quoter tells the whole story as to why football is so important to university.

I share this sentiment, but the reality is that it's human nature. The whole "my tribe versus your tribe!" thing is pretty deeply ingrained in the human psyche. And as destructive as these sports riots (and brutish mentality) is, it's still better than the alternative that we're already slowly moving away from - "my religion versus your religion!". A drunk soccer hooligan may feel empowered by sports mania to knock some teeth out of a opposing fan, but for the most part they don't burn them alive or start wars over it!

Yes, it's an outlet for primitive violent tendencies. If it weren't sports, people would find another thing to fight about. There's no sports in the middle east so they fight about religion and idiologies.

Football is the life blood of many universities, they typically fund all other college sports, facilities, trainers, coaches, game day expenses etc... And if there's money left over, like at Penn state, it lowers tuition because students don't have to contribute to keep these programs running.

No offence wiskas, that statement couldn't be further from the truth. football (soccer) is huge in the middle east. In fact the 2022 world cup is going to be held in Qatar,
