Looks nice but I would have probably gotten the cheapest memory/hard drive/video card option and just upgraded those myself since apple charges an arm an a leg for upgrades.

But yeah, 8 cores? Thats fucking nuts.

It's terrible. Right clicking never works right, the ball is cool, but pointless and it does not fit anyone's hands. Just grab a logitech or MS wired mouse.

I like my mightymouse. Maybe I have adapted to use it or something? I dunno. The huge ergonomic mice feel weird to me now. I have it set to a really fast speed, rest the lower bit of my palm on the desk and move the mouse about with my finger tips. I wouldn't want it any larger or smaller really.

Also the right clicking is 100% fine. Lift your finger from the left side of the mouse, it is that bloody easy! The mouse has no buttons, one large shell which presses down (and has sensors underneith.) So how in the hell does it know you want a right click when you have a finger on the left hand side of the mouse still? Left click is very common, so it is the default click when you have fingers on both sides.

Also alot of people overlook the fact is also has a middle button, click with a finger over the scroll ball. I have it set for the usual windows firefox operation [open new tab.] + it has a fourth function button via squeezing the mouse sides. I go mental when people still say "oh macs only comes with one button mice still don't they?"

Awesome, except for the previously mentioned mighty mouse. Seems extremely overkill though, are you doing some sort of data analysis or 3D modeling?

Hoooooly shit. I figured it'd be around $10k. Hope it's worth it - are you going to run SETI on it?

    What about crysis? lol

HD video editing/compositing, Motion EFX, trancsoding of HD files to various compression standards for web streaming. I just want it all to be done as fast as possible.

I may give crysis a shot... no seti though. If aliens are so smart, they can find us.

While I'm on my third Mighty Mouse in 18 months due to it constantly right clicking and the ball clogging up, I still can't imagine going back to a plain scroll wheel. As for comfort, I've had no issues with mine, it's not super ergonomic but it works well.

Lurker, the ability to side scroll in your timeline should make you <3 the hell out of your MM.

    Will do.

The last mac mouse I used was the single button that came with the quicksilver G4's. I liked the shap of that one. I'll give it a shot.

    Wooooo!

First 2 of 5 packages arrived this morning. :D

    [IMG][IMG]

The software will probably come tomorrow with the Mac Pro bringing up the rear on Mon-Tue.

I guess I'll leave them in the box for now since without the Mac they're useless....
