I thought by now I would be able to make a clear and decisive vote but, I honestly don't know who I will vote for today.

The choices are worse that the last pres election. We don't get a choice, we get a lack of options.

Obviously Rick "The Dick" Santorum. The guy is the next Dan Quayle.

Honestly though, I'm pretty sure these guys couldn't win class president at a high school. I know the American pulic is considered stupid, but we have to give them some credit.

I'm debating about not even voting. My civic duty tells me I should, but look at the choices: An old man with ethics issues, a Mormon with helmet hair, and Rick "SOPA was a good idea" Santorum. And then there's Ron Paul who doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell.

I like bits and pieces of all 4 but I also have problems with all 4! It sucks. I was a Gingrich fan but now, not so much.

On some level (here comes the comment that sends my conservative friends into a tantrum) I think it would almost be better to give Obama a 2nd term. He's more liberal leaning than I would like, but without having to worry about reelection he would be free to do some things that were in the common interest versus just the part line. Look at Clinton during his 2nd term, he moved towards the center and did some good things. I dunno, maybe I'm just rationalizing.

Nothing really riles me up too much anymore and, I see your point. I would say however that Obama hasn't leaned far enough left in his 1st term for a majority that voted for him. He's been vocal about where he stands on Same Sex Marriage, he got Osama, we're still in Afghanistan, etc. He's not the guy I wanted or want currently but, the 4 running against him don't overly impress me either at this point.

Anyone else feel like this could be end times? "And the angel opened the 7th seal, and MSP and Tacdriver spoke semi-positively about Obama"...

    EDIT: Also...

Maybe if some moderate Republicans voted for Obama it might wake up the party apparatchik. Right now it looks more like a fruit basket than a political party.

WHO WANTS TO JOIN ME IN A ROUSING "BOOO" OF THE GOLDEN RULE!!?

Whereas I'm hoping the opposite for Obama's second term (let's face it, he's going to beat Mitt). I really want this president to acknowledge the progressive base that elected him the first time and start leading the Democrats away from this compromise crap.

I wouldn't have minded it so much but the opposition was intransigent right down the line. Did the dems ever use this debt-limit shit against geedubbya? Sometimes I wished we'd elected more of a fighter (Hillary). Perhaps this coolness was all part of Obama's master plan because now he can claim to be the voice of reason.

I hope if he does get re-elected, he tries to do some things, but he also needs to remember he'll have the Democratic Party in one of the best spots it's been in since Kennedy, and he can give the whole shebang right back to the Republicans by going too wacko left.

^^Exactly. We don't need a liberal George Bush. Moderation and unity would be in everyone's best interest.

i like how a lot of people won't vote for ron paul because he 'doesn't have a chance' hmmmm... Maybe if people voted for him he would have a chance? You don't like what the last 3-4 presidents have done but are willing to vote for some one who is going to keep the status quo but won't vote for the guy who wants to change the way our nation functions, because he doesn't have a chance... Vote for who you agree with the most, regardless of popularity, then you can complain about the grave we have dug for ourselves

Hopeless? yes, it's true. Politics are just a scam that lets us think we actually have a bit of power.
