long time, no see, Tweak3D. built a computer for my wife back in early 2009, the important bits are: Biostar TA780G M2+ AMD Phenom 9500 X4 OCZ Gold 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800MHz anyways, its been running on HD3200 integrated graphics and i'm getting the itch to add in a video card. been doing a lot of research today on tomshardware and came to the conclusion that for the budget i'm wanting to stick to ($100 or less, excluding shipping), looking at newegg i can get a HD6770 for $80 after a rebate. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125396 i'm fond of ATI(AMD now, i guess) products, and the only nVidia card that came close to my budget while still delivering good performance was a GTS 450. this is the specific search i used in newegg, for reference. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...eValue=679:40677&PropertyCodeValue=679:148320 anyways, anybody have any other options for that price range?
Recently did a overhaul on my gaming rig on a budget. I came up with the Gforce Gtx 460 1gb ddr3 its running around $140 online. Really really decent card, runs everything today flawlessly so far as I have seen. Its a little more than your current budget but worth the extra money.
I upgraded not too long ago to a GTX 550 Ti and it's awesome. With that said.. I have an nVidia GTX 260 core216 laying around if you want it.
I too have the 550 Ti and it gets the job done. If you have the RAM and Processor, the 550Ti can get you in Skyrim on full settings and Crysis 3 on just about every setting on full. However, if you can afford the extra $10-$20, the 560ti is a MUCH better card for the money.
