I moved to Santa Monica (yay no more Bakersfield) and needed a car to drive that wasn't going to leave me stranded from time to time. The Talon was very reliable in the past but lately it was slacking a bit in that department, mostly little problems, but enough to warrant a 2nd car. I decided to take it off the road for a bit and drive something else. So here it is, my 99 Mustang GT 35th anniversary edition. Mods: -H&R springs -Bilstein shocks -Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates -Magnaflow X-pipe -Magnaflow catback -K&N filter -underdrive pulleys -Pro 5.0 shifter -18" Saleen wheels (tires are 265/35/18 I think) -Saleen S281 wing -tint all the way around -black pony in front It's got 87,000 miles, a 5 speed, and runs excellent. Everything works, power everything, and so-on. I've made the drive from LA several times already and it's doing great so far. It's very fun to throw around corners, blow the tires away through 2nd gear, or just go cruising. Plus the exhaust sounds awesome. I need to get some videos up! Maybe next week when I'm back in LA. It badly needs gears, and nitrous. Well maybe not nitrous just yet, but some day. Oh I forgot to mention the best part: the price! I paid only $7800 for this beauty.
wow. looks awesome dan! i love those wheels, though i can't say i care for the wing much. you practically stole that thing for the price you payed.
The wing looks HOT in person. Maybe I can get a better angle on it... The wing goes great w/ the silver and dark windows.
For some reason you just mentioning Santa Monica makes me want to goto Venice. Maybe I will next weekend if its warm. And yeah, thats incredibly clean for under 8k.
$7800???? Wtf. Thats beyond a steal. You must get at least a sound file of that exhaust. I'm so tired of hearing fart pipes on civics that i always crave the deep growl of a healthy V8.
I pulled in next to a black Mustang today which I thought was a V6 at first(always makes me chuckle a bit) because I didn't see any pipes coming out the back.. figured I just couldn't see that single outlet from my angle. No worries though.. she had side pipes :-D I was so jealous.
I love the way the car sounds although he keeps setting off my landlords car alarm when he starts it up.
Nice Mustangs are always a pleasure to see So what are you going to do to it? I know it can't stay that way for too long.
I know I saw you on the 91 earlier tonight, 'bout a couple miles west of the 15. Also, as stated the wing does look a lot better in person, I don't know if it was dan, but they did have the same wing/car.
