3G iphone is sort of an issue due to extremely shitty data plans here in Canada.

I want something with wifi, where I can do IM, and youtube videos etc.

Also, after using the POS LG chocolate with shit battery life... I want something ROBUST.

    any ideaS?

Check out the Nokia n series. I loved the N92.

i'm a fan of windows mobile phones. I've been using them for several years. they aren't quite as stable as some other phones but they are super powerful and can pretty much do anything you want like a real computer.

htc diamond will be nice after a custom firmware upgrade, and major tweaking. out of the box like all winmo phones, they are slow

its all about how you wanna use your phone.
    all finger manipulation? iphone
    stylus/some finger? winmo pro phone
like button pressing? flip phone, palm, blackberry
like a full on excellent camera? sony ericsson
like style and beauty? samsung touch phones

whos your cell provider? gsm or cdma?

personally, im waiting on the diamond myself... enough to hold me over for the next REAL iphone.
UNLESS some crazy newfound love re-arrives for the iphone due to some application or hardware change.

I'm somewhat in the same boat as you pk. I've been humming and hawing for a while now about getting a blackberry, but the fucking costs.... ugh. I'm so fed up with shit plans I was going to just ditch the cell phone altogether and get SkypeIn @ home, but alas Canada sucks there too because the service is not available here. I'm paying 25$/month when it's all said and done and I don't get anything but a lousy 150 daytime mins, E+W, Voicemail, CID. Why can't the whole world just Skype, telecoms be damned!

My Q9c works great and has all the features you are looking for and has way better battery life than my old Q1 and most large phones for that matter. The battery will go for 2 days straight using the phone regularly.
