Well here is my last final spec list. Im spending quite a bit of money, so i wanna make sure i got the OKAY from the Tweakers. Ive already bought the nzxt phantom case with the very miniscule work bonus i just got. Im thinking monday-wed i'll have my tax money deposited. This final list will also leave me plenty of money left to pay off a credit card AND have some left over for misc expenses. I guess im sticking with a black/white/blue theme and that will coincide with the case mod i got planned.

Once the psu gets tested for a while, i'll sleeve.

Ive changed my mind about the gigabyte ud7. the current bios are terrible and theyve yet to announce any plans for uefi, and its just too expensive/overboard for my needs. This board, ive been reading has been having issues with certain ram, and having lockup problems.. hopefully this all gets sorted out before i buy it. ive been keeping track on hardocp.
ASUS P8P67 PRO LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
    $189.99

Decided that since im saving a bit of money on the motherboard, i can skip the 570 and jump to 580 with matching colors, etc.
    EVGA 015-P3-1580-AR GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express $499.99

This has gotten great reviews, solid built in hardware, and long "corsair-like" modular cables, and is cheaper, matches the white phantom case.
    NZXT HALE90-750-M 750W ATX 12V v2.2, EPS 12V v2.91 80 PLUS GOLD Certified $159.99 -$20.00 Instant $139.99

Will be using stock cooler/hsf unless i find a nice cheapie in the next coming days.
    Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W
    $329.99

Im pretty much dead set on this, unless theres another sata 6gb ssd that just came out at a reasonable price.
    Crucial RealSSD C300 CTFDDAC064MAG-1G1 2.5" 64GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid $144.99 -$10.00 Instant $134.99

I doubt i need 8gb right now, if need be, its just an extra 65. Pretty damn cheap with low 7 timings.
My question is.. Is it worth getting 1600 ram? or can i save a bit and buy 1333? I havent looked much into this, im just wanting 1600 because of OC'ing abilities for the future.. but i dont know if ram overclocking is even worth it with sandybridge.
    G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) $64.99

    Subtotal: $1,359.94

So is this mostly going to be used for gaming?

My old q6600 and HD 4870 runs games just fine. I couldn't justify that amount just for games.

the thing is... i dont upgrade regularly. once every 4-5 years its been... so this kind of investment could/should be worth it to me??
whatever i buy now, needs to last me until the wheels fall off.

and ive never had an e-penis. now is MY time.

nah, the sabertooth just has a fancy heatsink covering the whole damn thing, not really worth it imo.

Torx, if I were you, I'd get a 128GB SSD. You talk about longevity, but you're setting yourself up for an early upgrade with so little space.

EDIT: I know you're probably going to have a secondary HDD for data, but with Windows 7, and a few games, you'll run out of space on that SSD fairly quickly.

Why spring for a Sandy Bridge CPU when you're getting discrete graphics, which turns off Sandy Bridge graphics features? ;) At least till Virtu finally goes gold.

I don't know if this is still the case but I remember one article about how SSD performance deteriorates as you fill up the drive and to keep 10-20% free space at all times. That means even less usable space on a 64gb drive.

I have the Asus deluxe, and if you can find a deal, I think it's worth the extra money. Has a few extra MOSFET heatsinks, inboard power and reset and CMOS clear, as well as a USB 3.0 box for a 3.5 bay, so you don't have to reach behind your computer to plug isb3.0 stuff in.

For hsf you can't go wrong with a coolermaster hyper 212+ they are pretty cheap and leaps better than the stock one.

If you had poster earlier, tigerdirxt had a deal for a 1kw psu and gtx580 for like 600ish. As it is that 580 will last you a loong time and you can always add a second o e later for multimonitor goodness :)

also throw in an f4 spinpoint 1 or2tb, I have the same SSd and it gets full way too damn quick. When I reinstalled everything I wound up putting my steam install and just about every other program on a different hdd. Or if you could stand waiting, just buy a standard hdd and the ssd once the next gen is released in the next month or 2.

i considered those extra features for the deluxe and i have no use for the front usb panel, and other features you mentioned. i think the pro should still suit me fine. i'll consider if i can find a good price though.

i was thinking about the corsair h50 because i want something silent and not so big/heavy stressing the motherboard or taking up valuable "viewing" of the mobo in a window mod. I think those huge clunky hsf's look rediculous even if they are efficient.
for $30 thats an awesome hsf though, and its gotten great reviews, and i like how the heatpipes are in direct contact with the core.

yea i figure the 580 will drop in price after i buy one :p :p so sli down the road would be great (thats if sli/xfire is even efficient in the years to come, or superceded by a new tech)

i'll consider a bigger ssd, i forgot about "size after formatting" and if i got a gaming rig i'll want to play alot of games "on tap".

i got an acer h233h, and im considering another since ive been doing alot of graphic work lately.. buts its low on priority, but would like to grab another before it gets discontinued.
