Well I recently got my conceal carry, so i went out gun shopping. Didn't buy anything but my roommate picked up an ar-15. a few days later, I went to go get one, and they were out of stock, but I ended up with a shotgun. Remington 870, 12 gauge. But unfortunately, since I had to much fun as a kid, I get put on a wait list. So in the mean time, i was telling a guy at work about it, and he started crabin because hes trying to sell some shotguns, so I tell him to bring in his SKB, 12guage, pump. He wants 100$ for it, SOLD. pretty nice gun. I've been out trap shooting with it already. A few weeks go by, I come in and this little gem is sitting on my desk. Same guy that I bought the shotgun from gave it to me. Grecado Model 11, .25 cal. Can't pass up a free gun. So i went to go get some ammo and see what the deal was with the 870. Walked out with some ammo and the 870. Bought a 18" barrel, folding pistol grip stock, mag extender, and shell holder. all for about 240$ Still looking for a handgun. I was thinking about a glock 19. Also where can I get some cheap surplus ammo?
I just purchased my first glock(.45). I own a lot of guns but finally decided to try my hand at a glock. I rented a couple different ones at a local range and they all shot reasonable. Its mainly going to be a hunting side arm for me. Something I shouldn't have to worry about jamming up or getting dirty. Cheap surplus ammo = http://www.freedommunitions.com/ http://www.jackrossammo.com/ I just bought some ammo from freedom muntions because jack ross is on back order...freedom and jack ross are my go to for ammo.
I was going to ask what the hell the point of getting the conceal carry permit was if you bought a shotgun, but then I scrolled down and saw the other ones, lol. Neevvvverrrmind. I have been practicing shooting with a Smith & Wesson 9mm at the range, I'm a fan of that gun... especially for $250.
I recommend Sportsman's Guide for ammo (www.sportsmansguide.com). Great prices, and fast shipping. No complaints with them thus far. I frequent gun shows, and have bought quite a few knives and a few guns from them. Great way to get good deals, as long as you know what you're buying. Also, shop around on www.gunbroker.com. I have bought through there for years. Guns are addictive as hell. It definitely is a bug. I now have 9 guns IIRC (at the hospital now and have a lack of sleep). For concealed carry, I love Rugers ultralight handguns (LCP and LCR). I own one of both. ~Will Courtier~
I like the title of this thread. "I've got the gun bug". As americans, I thought the gun bug was a permanent thing or genetic; kind of like being assholes to the rest of the world.
Not all of us share all of our gun buggedness just like not all of us are assholes to the rest of the world.
