Kind of hard to take seriously if it's produced by Obama though isn't it?

It is pretty concerning that McCain was pushing for MORE deregulation back in march. Even if he truly believed that was the right thing to do, it was the wrong decision.

Produced by Obama or not, it did happen and it's relevant to what's going on in our economy now.

The vote to keep Credit Default Swaps unregulated, introduced by Senator Phil Graham (McCain's economic advisor, till he called us a Nation of whiners!), and added as a rider to a budget bill, was voted through the Senate by a vote of 97 to ZERO. Nobody, Republican or Democrat, voted against it. Bill Clinton SIGNED it. The understaffing of inspectors and regulators in Regulatory agencies, such as the FDA, and instruction to "hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil" with regards to regulation, has carried through every administration since Reagan.

Thus the blame is equal opportunity between Demoblicans and Republicrats. They both listen to their Lobbyists (just like the Zeitgeist video said), who convince them that the baby IS the bathwater, and vice versa... The result of all this is this crisis, as well as several questionable drugs passed with cherry-picked and fudged studies, and just about a "food poisoning of the month," lately involving jalepenos (not tomatos as originally thought).

Answer: We all did! :D As the Economist interviewed, in my oft-touted "This American Life" episode dealing with this mess, all of the problems we see, from the mortgage backed securities, to the credit-default-swaps, are just symptoms, and the main problem is that the entire world just has TOO MUCH DEBT.

Fuck both of these guys. What this country needed was real fiscal conservatism, not this religious fundie spending spree bullshit that republicans are now. At least with the democrats you knew you'd be paying more to COVER what they were spending...

    Man, fuck everybody.

mark my words: "before it's over, we as well as the rest of the world will be begging for a NWO type sollution."
Why? because nobody wants to change. or if they do want things to change, they aren't willing to make the neccessary sacrifices. How do radicals get into power? because they have the right "words" at the right time. Mid eastern type violence happens when peoples' fear turns to anger. I see the population of the USA's fears turning to anger. There are more and more people with nothing to loose every day this is allowed to go on and the people paid to watch the pulse of the nation are more than aware of this. Hense, a battalion (+commitments with Canada's military) is now attatched to homeland security.

I'm good, I have a handgun! I'm waiting for stricter regulations regarding guns altogether. It would further indicate worry by the government regarfing mass riots.

Niether you or millions of gun owners are joking about that. it's the only deterent we have working in our favor. But beware, if your weapons are registered, it's in a database that identifies what, and how many you have.
Also, the type and quantity of what you have can redflag you. There is a file on everyone somewhere in the G'VDB.:tinfoil:

About the only other effective weapon we have, is wether or not we pay our debts :unibrow:. think about it:-k

I'm not advocating illegal actions................but it may just be a darned good idea. A couple million other people think so too. I currently own no firearms at all, but that may change.
