Dual core, 9x faster graphics, cameras front and back, gyroscope, 2oz lighter, 33% thinner, same price... HOW LONG CAN I RESIST!!! http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/mobile/03/02/ipad.2/index.html?hpt=T1
Pft! I don't even have that, I opted for the $180 netbook. I like it, use it every day, but the new iPads are almost irresistible.
Yeah, Jobs may be a prick but I'm fond of him because he's been such a driving force in the industry for so long. It's sad to see him like that. But the flip side is that I was betting everybody that he'd be dead in 2010, so he's already beat the odds. Anyway, expect to see the "I love my iPad2!" thread in the coming months. I just can't resist any longer.
MSP will fall to the temptation, and the iPad 3 will come out three weeks after his purchase, with quad-core, integrated sandy-bridginess, full-motion video cameras, longer battery life, and the same price!
Wow, Jobs looks sooooooo skinny! I'm with MSP on this... my sister in-law just got an iPad and I messed around with it. It's great. I didn't budge for the iphone but I may with this.
NOOOOOO, don't buy one of those eBook tablets. They suck at emulating iPad-type stuff and the LCD screen hurts to read after a while. And if eBooks keep outselling physical books I'm screwed! I'd never let people read a digital copy of my writing, it's just not right.
The only gadget I guess I'm lusting after ATM is the no-contract, Wi-Fi-only Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I guess if you don't have an iPhone, the iPad would seem really cool. As an iPhone user, I see no point to getting it. I'd rather invest in a nice netbook. To each his own, I suppose.
So which of you suckers got one? I happened to be in the galleria today. At 1 the line wasn't that bad, saw about 10people with folding chairs. By 3 the line stretched damn near a quarter mile. Must have been at least 200 people in line. One things for sure. Apple knows how to build a following.
I've been reading reports that a lot of the people standing in line were doing it for someone else or had plan on reselling them. There were a lot of foreigners in line looking to do this.
Well olthe gallieria in Houston is already a Mecca for foriegnors. I mean, it's one of the oil captiols of the world. That being said, most of the people in line were either hipster looking people, on their MacBooks, Asians, or middle class white guys. I don't recall seeing too many UAE types in line. But I did see quite a few of them and their beautiful women at the high end stores anyway hope the people that got them are happy with their purchase and don't suffer too much buyers remorse this fall
There wont be another ipad in the fall. Apple is very consistent with their releases. In the summer it's iphone, in the winter/spring it's ipad, in the fall it's mac books.
That could very well prove to be true. It's just that every rumor I've heard has pointed to a much fast ipad in the fall. Which, like you've said doesn't really fall into apples pattern, but given the portable tech adnaces in the last 6 months, it wouldn't suprise me if they did have something new just to stay competitive. Btw I don't mean to come off as an apple hater, they really have brought the tab into the mainstream, and forced competitvwness. I just don't like the apple cult.
Yeah but the new Mac Books just came out last month (http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/)? Or do you mean regular MacBooks? I also heard that there will be a new iPad in the fall. Not sure how much truth there is to it though.
