At work we're still stuck at IE6, seriously. Our corporate IT is incompetent... Anyway, I'll try this when I get some time. I love Firefox, so Microsoft is going to have to really knock my socks off to get me to switch back.

At the two huge corporations I interned/worked at, they were still on Internet Explorer 6. It's not their fault. Microsoft likes to change things and make web applications incompatible. Kind of hard to upgrade when you have mission critical applications that need to run.

Yeah, I remember my company's fiasco when they went from IE6 to IE7.

I've been using the beta for awhile now....it's better than 7 by a good measure.

I still have IE6 on my computer and refused to upgrade to IE7 because think IE7 sucks balls.

I upgraded today. Pretty solid so far.. After rebooting, I got some nasty Windows error messages, but everything has been running stable since. Haven't rebooted since to see if the messages come back, but I'll try that in a bit.

Alot of users are still on IE6 at the office. We initially put the block on IE7 to make sure our apps wouldn't break, but we allow people to upgrade on their own now / any new builds are IE7. Here's the funny part about this whole situation - alot of our new development using heavy javascript breaks in IE6 and works perfect in IE7. We can't get users upgraded fast enough now.. Hopefully things will stay the course for IE8. So far, our apps have been pretty solid in it. They ran like crap and required the compability mode in the beta version, but so far run just fine (unless of course, the browser is auto rendering in compability mode if it senses the crap code we right :p)

Same here. Government organizations suck. But since I and other's that are working in my IT department, we just install Firefox and they don't complain. It's a don't ask, don't tell policy :D

Some of my clients are still on IE6 but that's only because of quickbooks. If QB wouldn't be so damn integrated with IE (and fucking slow as hell) I'd be a happy man.

firefox has been doing the search highlighted thing for a while

dunno about private viewing stuff...sounds neat, but meh, I'm the only one who uses my computer so I have no need for it.

good for them though, I just prefer the feel of firefox

I use both up till now. If IE8 does well I'll get rid of Firefox.

    Edit: So far so good.

I do have issues when the seems to be a conflict with my wirelessG and times that require hitting the refresh button.

Wow, and I thought my company was the only one with terrible IT. I wonder why they hire the worst possible web coders. The amount of shit that is constantly breaking in all of our web based apps is astounding.

It's really Microsoft's fault though. Have you ever tried to design a webpage that would work for Firefox and IE6? It's hell. I'm glad they're finally changing their tune now. IE7 and 8 follow web standards a bit better.

my IT department has started installing IE7 this month as we have some web based apps that require IE7, plus security of course. I'll try IE8 and see how it is.

I actually like it alot better. i'd say i luvved it, if it weren't for that refresh crap.
I get so tired of : "internet explorer cannot display...." or google's: "it appear the link is broken..."
