I am having problems with my onboard sound. The board is ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe and from what I have read many many people have audio problems with this board.

First my audio drops out randomly. All the time then comes back in, then out. It Sucks!

Second, I can't make my mic work in CS:S anymore. It just sounds like garbled trash comming out of the ass of a scandinavian slug.

If I put in a CHAINTECH AV-710 for my audio card will this solve my audio problems?

let's see.. replace problematic onboard sound with an add-in card...

nah, that's way too crazy of an idea. just hit mute.

seriously, I know nothing about audio cards and if this will solve my problem or not. I have never dealt with audio cards before right now. I'm just looking for some help, that's all. I am looking to speand next to nothing to get my audio on par with at least on-board audio. I just need to know if the Chaintech AV-710 will fix my problem.

I can vouch for the quality of the card, its fantastic. For $25 you get something that will sound better than the best onboard, and has SPDIF. Also, I had no, not one damn problem with the card.

Chances are it'll fix your problem. I'm not for sure, because it could always be a software issue.
