I know there are not many fans here, but I think they are both great solo artists, they put out a great album together and it was a damn good show. The show was at the Tacoma Dome, about 30 miles south of Seattle. My friend locked his keys in the car, so we had to get AAA to break in and get them, haha. There was a main stage and a smaller stage that were covered in screens and rose out of the floor. Getting me ready for Africa Big place, plenty of people. And plenty of lasers. Lighters and phones. It was a mix of Jay and Kanye together, and each doing their hits solo. I think Kanye was wearing a kilt Wrapping it all up. They finished with "Niggas in Paris" /show. 8.5/10, good performance.
I don't take much issue with the artist, although I don't like either, but I don't see the appeal of sitting 80 rows back and watching it on a jumbotron. You might as well just buy a DVD of the show and play it really fucking loud while 20 of your closest friends hotbox your house.
Kanye is one of those artists that I dislike as a person but I have to acknowledge his talent. I tried to write him off as one of those artists that are made by their producers, but turns out the douche produces his own stuff. Damn it!
Some truth, but if you are willing to spend $220 to buy me floor seats I'd be glad to take them Haha, we were about as far away as you can get which is wack because my friend bought them the day they went on sale... but whatever, seeing a show live is still a very different experience than watching a DVD. There is nothing comparable to being in a dome with 15,000 people and that kind of light/sound system.
Aww hell yeah, that looks awesome! I really don't like Watch the Throne (it's kinda masturbatory and the beats are meh IMO), but I dig Jay Z and Kanye. Especially Kanye's early albums, before he got too rich and famous.
I miss a good show. The last show I saw was Jakyl and Damn Yankees. yeah! jakyl with their Chainsaw Blues and Ted Nugent same as he always was. I was at the Tacoma Dome one night. Got there strictly by accident while it was gearing up for a huge WWF event. talk about a medium large venue stuck way back off in a corner of Tacoma. It took awhile to find my way back to the freeway. Fiddy's right though. There simply is no matching a live show.
Jay Z's fine, but you couldn't pay me to see Kanye. I'm not much for rock shows at huge venues, either. The last one I saw was Cage the Elephant, Manchester Orchestra, and Silversun Pickups at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa. Part of the problem with shows in the midwest is they're often in the middle of the week or worse. E.g., last spring I wanted to see Interpol and School of the Seven Bells in K.C., but it was on a Sunday night. Easter Sunday night. WTF?
