LA/SoCal area. I might be flying out there with a friend to buy a car, then drive it back. 93 octane prices only.

    reg: $3.15-3.25
    unl: 3.25.3.35
    super: 3.35-3.50

It fluctuates... you're better off making sure you're full up when you're in the middle of a city/town... bastards off the freeway are in the habit of charging .10-.20 more than average for regular gas.

That's about the same as here, kinda weird because Wisconsin gas is expensive.

I paid $3.50 for 91 (or whatever premium is) this week, In Elsinore. Though, out in West Covina it was only $3.10 for regular.

It really varies in price, when you get way out into the desert, near Arizona, it starts to get cheap, once you actually make it to Arizona or Nevada, it drops like $.40.

Nidex, California almost allways has the highest gas prices.

might have something to do with California having the highest emission standards.

but yeah, you're looking at about $3.50/gallon.

When are you coming out? I think it might peak up to $4 soon. Maybe in august it will get that high.

I didn't notice the 93 octane comment in the original post. You can't really buy anything higher than 91 out here. Don't get me wrong, you can get some VP racing fuel, I think they sell up past 105 or something like that, but it's pretty hard to find, and way too expensive to be filling a car with.
  17. nidex Hood Rich

    Whaaat? 91? Fuck that.

91 octane tops. Here 91 is at 3.21.9/gal And thats at the lowest priced place in town (ARCO) The Shell, Texaco, BP is around 20 cents more /gal. It is on it's way up.
  19. nidex Hood Rich

So.. you guys run 91 octane in your boosted and high compression engines?

It's the only choice. There aren't any gas stations that sell higher than 91 out here.

Though, as stated before, you could buy race fuel in drums and mix it with a lower grade.
  21. nidex Hood Rich

Screw that, octane booster would be a better idea. Plus alot of race gas is leaded, as compared to unleaded.

I ran 110 octane unleaded in my car once, smelled great and ran like a champ.

I run reg no-lead.....no boosted, hi-comp in my driveway (dammit). I miss the good ol' days of burnin out and acting crazy on the road....it was fun. I gave it up before the numbers cought up with me, same with riding motorcycle. But yeah, sadly, the west coast is run by the libs and there isn't anything legal that's fun anymore....91 octane is the best we get.[IMG]

I know of some "off road" gas stations that sell 110 octane with no road tax down south. But yeah 91 octane is standard for premium. Does the engine have to run on 93? How did that guy afford to fill it with 93
  24. nidex Hood Rich

    Probably 91 + octane booster.
