One of my 22" lcd monitor died. Upon closer look i can see video running in the back but there is no light. I think the inside lamp died. Was wondering if any one here know where i can get lcd lamps for 22" monitors. Gateway monitor (ran fine for 3ish years). If possible i like to keep it, because i like the PIP feature. monitor specs: Model: LP2207 Product: FPD2275W Thanks in advance.
90% sure its actually the back light inverter that went bad on it. I don't think LCD parts come very easy but if it is no longer under warranty (check this, most LCD monitors have 3 year standard warranties) open that sucker up and check the model number on that inverter and see if you can buy one online. EDIT: just saw that you said you had it for 3 years so nevermind about the warranty.
ty man really appreciate the suggestion. I called gateway they gave me 3rd party number that deals in parts. I never really messed with monitors, so i dont know much about, guess i will just open the lcd and learn as i go...
Replacing the part won't be a big deal, and you really have nothing to lose trying. You can almost certainly find a video of it being done on YouTube.
Had some time to disassemble the dam lcd. I miss the old days where they used screws for ever thing; looked shitty but, was soo much easier to open. The plastic casing has shit load of clips and with 3+ old system, the plastic is brittle as it is. So i pretty much destroy all the small plastic clips on top and bottom (no big problem). inside there are alot of small screws so that was easy to open up. I was hoping the florescent lamp inside be easy to access. But HELL NO. The dam thing is sealed in the aluminum casing that surrounds the dam LCD. I didnt want to use force because it will be in two pieces, between my anger from the plastic clips, and the annoyance of mfg poor design i left it as is. Dont have the time or patience to look on ebay and stuff for inverter circuits that may or may not work... So in market to pick up new LCD. Figure i go 24 or + this time. With good response time. HannsĀ·G HG-281DPB Black 27.5" 3ms. Not a great brand name. But with 3 year warranty + extended warranty (this time), i might consider this. Has nice response time. SAMSUNG ToC T240HD Rose-Black 24" 5ms. Was hoping to get PIP again...
Get the Samsung. Sorry to hear about your Gateway, I hope mine holds up better. I've got the 3 year warranty on mine but that wouldn't have saved me in your situation anyway.
