Of course, the most important one is that gorgeous thing in the background... a 1986 Yamaha FZ600S that is showroom mint. My new acquisition... The black one is for resale http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIYVqMvYKUY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0nsBEMLpic Can't wait to get it insured
nice pics/videos sound quality is great and damn does that fz600 fly.. how do those old bikes compare to the more modern ones anyways?
That FZ600 will need a little TLC before it's running 100%. It is most certainly not making much power yet because the charging system isn't even working properly yet so that's all off the battery. As far as these old bikes vs new bikes. Quite frankly, they aren't going to compete on a racetrack by any margin. If you put this bike up against any other modern 600cc bike on a track with the same rider, there's no competition. Today's bikes have better suspension, brakes, a stiffer chassis and MUCH more power; this is the evolution of racing technology. That said, in the hands of a skilled rider, these old sports bikes are still plenty fast and they offer a very unique riding experience. They're fun and stylish and very enjoyable to ride and just look awesome. Quite frankly, I have no interest in modern sport bikes but I love this old school rocket because it's just plain cool.
Yeah, the previous owner kept the cylinders lubricated when he put it in storage, that's about an ounce in each cylinder being burnt out.
I am so envious! 80s Japanese bikes are some of the most gorgeous machines on the planet. Nice find man.
I love that bike. It seems like Yamaha and Honda were always ahead of their time with their sportbikes. And for some reason I always pictured you to be fat.
that fz is baaaaaaaaaadass, I need to start looking for more old sportbikes. I need an actual garage, our carport is now 3 bikes plus whatever else I am working on (new wood floors right now) I picked up a honda 919 a few months ago, only 4k mi, mint condition: (also I think you were the one that was giving me shit on my car accident, wear a helmet fool)
I'm a big fan of the 919, it's a sexy bike. I would love to own one of those. And yeah yeah about the helmet. If I leave my neighborhood, I always wear full gear but I was just putting around the street. You are so very right though So nidex, what you pictured was correct then. I am fat
Got the bike all fixed and running nicely now. Did some maintenance, changed the tires, upgraded the forks and so-on. Still need a little work to the brakes but I made another video I can show you http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mK4xvjkHBbI
