Anyone else do this? Been making it with a press for a while now and I'm having a really hard time going back to drip brew. The pressed stuff just has so much more flavor to it.
It's not my absolute favourite method, but it's what I use on a daily basis. Simple and makes a good brew.
We do it at Starbucks when someone wants to try a tiny bit of a different coffee we don't have brewing. It does have a good flavor, but you can also do things like use multiple paper filters for a longer steep with your drip coffee. Or get a coffee filter with a metal filter, and bypass paper all together, that seems to be the most flavorful.
That's the way we're supposed to taste coffee at Starbucks. Paper filters soak up the oils on the beans whereas metal filters don't. Just gotta make sure to get the right temperature, right grind, right proportions, and the right water for a good cup. I gave my ex's mom a coffee press as a gift when we first started dating and she used it everyday.
I bought an aeropress for home, and a second for work. I like it because it's so fast, but need to experiment with different filters. Makes awesome coffee, too.
Will and I have one as well, it makes suck good coffee that we took it on the trip to Iowa with us. We really dont drink much coffee anymore though.
