Fiber Optic cabling

    Anyone know where to go to find out if your neighborhood is wired for Fiber-Optic communications or not? Not ISP's that provide the service, rather wheter or not your area is wired for it.

    I need FiOS but it's not available yet in my area but I figure since it's a pretty new developed area (2-3 years new) it would be pre-wired.

    If it was wired, wouldn't an ISP be offering service for it? And if for some reason you have dark fiber running in your neighborhood there's really nothing you can do to tap into it, unless I am wrong and that is how you can buy business lines (OC48 and such).
