Get this, past couple of months ive been receiving one piece of paper in the mail by citibank that basically says my new statement is online to view. On that piece of paper is my name, address, zip AND my FULL account number.

    Can you believe this shit?
So i called up, got some foreign fuck, and told him i wanted to stop receiving this shit due to privacy and possible identity theft issues.

I got another in the mail, called them up, another foreign fuck, said the same shit, complained but kept my cool.

So today i receive ANOTHER little piece of paper with all my information AND full acct number. The piece of paper stated that it was just a reminder that i opted out of receiving statements, etc etc in the mail.

NOW, what if i end up having an identity theft problem, couldnt i sue this company?

Unless you documented the complaints somehow, names, dates, recorded the calls, etc, you'd have a hard time.

But wouldn't anything your bank sends you in the mail have your name and address... so it can get to you? And doesn't just about everything come with account numbers? My Comcast bill, electricity bill, school, banks, they all have account numbers....?

    That's what I was thinking...

Other than online, how else would you get your acct #? By mail it would have to include your address and name.

you and mista need to stop hanging out and being paranoid together.

I would assume there's some kind of standard when it comes to security but your account # and info doesn't seem like enough to get past security questions and verification online or by phone.

    Just stop paper payments...

im not talking about a bullshit account string used by cable companies, rentals, etc etc
im talking about the full visa credit card number, the full number thats on my fucking credit card.

all you need is my number, a credit card programmer and my zip and you can get all the gas and "free" spending you want. maybe not so much for online spending (you need the security number) but for traditional retail transactions, YES.

uh yea, the moment i signed up for online bill payments which was... oh 5-6 years ago i opted out of statements by mail, havent recieved any ever.. then all of a sudden i started getting these pieces of paper.

It's not paranoia, when they really are out to get you. A person needs to ask themselves two questions:
    a) What benefit does the oposition stand to gain?
    b) What is the posibility of a buck being made somewhere in the chain of circumstance?
If the answer to both questions is "none", then it's paranoia.

Peoples bank just sent me a letter in the mail saying they "misplaced" my financial and personal information when they were moving it to an offsite storage location. In the letter they said I should now regularly check my credit score over the next few weeks because I'm at an extreme risk for identity theft....I went to the bank and they had no answers for me and when I called the number provided I couldn't understand the asshole's accent. So I guess I'm supposed to stand here with my dick in my hand waiting for some spic to take out 3 credit cards in my name.
