I think I remember reading somewhere that the government was eager (well not eager, but willing) to shovel out $50,000 grants to people in order to create more small businesses. I haven't Googled this yet but I will shortly, if anybody has any experience then please weigh in. A family member and myself were talking about it earlier and it got us thinking... not getting my hopes up by any means, but it would definitely be something I want to look into.
Seek out your local SBDC (small business developement center). They will answer all your questions and know of any current grants and funds.
