wow that is pretty bad. haha and i'm switching to comcast from dish network on thursday. mainly just to save money though. I'm not a HUGE tv picture quality nut so it's not that big of a deal to me. i don't have HD with dish network but I am getting HD with comcast. we'll see how the quality is. it has to be better than analog though...

ya know, i was going to make a thread here about the degradation of quality of my hd channels from the time i got my hd box (back in 2004) till now.. but i figured ive been beating the comcast dead horse in these forums enough.

reading this news does nothing but prove even more to me im not "just seeing things" seeing things like horrid artifects and pixelation... its pretty pathetic

My picture occasionally breaks up from signal loss, but it's never looked like those screen shots consistently. It's usually quite clear and I haven't had any real issues aside from the occasional drop in feed for 1-2 seconds, but it's been that way with every cable company I've ever had.

Seems to me like a lot of the Comcast hate is YMMV. I think I'm also really close to the offices and my city doesn't really have a lot of super compacted residential areas. It's mostly spread out, a lot of people own land instead of the houses where you can touch your neighbors house from your window.

I cannot wait until the day I can dumb Comcast. Hopefully the none exclusivity of apartments will trickle down and I can pick up qwerst or the like or I'll move to a complex that doesn't have an exclusive. (I can technically get DTV, but for iNet I'm stuck with Comcast.)

I just switched to comcast (because it actually saved me a lot of money). I don't like comcast any more than you guys but to save me money, I don't care what company I use. anywho, I thought the picture quality was really really good, even on standard definition, it was a lot better than dish networks standard definition. i got HD as well which looks great but I didn't have HD with dish network so I can't really compare the two.

In my area there is no verizon so I'm waiting for att's u-verse! Which is somewhat similar.

As it stands I can't stand watching digital tv or satellite tv because the picture quality sucks in general and is slow as hell when changing channels.

If you can't get verizon you might check and see if att has u-verse in your area. The price is comparable to comcast with no contracts and free installation!
