Hell it wouldn't hurt for another female presence...I just don't know that it'll be her. It is odd that none of the women posted in that thread yet lol

my days are made by what my master gunnery sergeant said to the new black guy in our platoon. he said this a couple weeks ago, but I still find it funny as fucking shit:

    loosely quoted
everyone's jaw in the room dropped. this is the highest ranking enlisted marine in our company. and he just casually throws ina bit of racism. i don't know if he was joking or not...

still makes me laugh my ass off when i think of it.

What the hell are you talking about? :) If I'm supposed to move this reply to a different thread, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

Let me ask you, is it abnormally warm across the atlantic? It got up to 78f~/26c last week and today it was 55f/12c. What the hell.

i would suspect the same thing, just going through the internets correcting everyone.. like a one woman crusade.. we'll probably never see her again..

until the next "Laura Bates Visits T3D Again, dispels rumors of never coming back!" thread is created.

    /sarcasm.

theres pics of her scar on her photobucket account. That's definately a big scar but it will fade away after years and maybe some surgery can help it go away cmpletely. Good luck staying from alcohol in the kind of business you're pursuing its going to be tough.

Hello Laura and everyone at tweak3d,

My name is Bill and I saw this story linked from another forum. I just wanted to come on here and tell you that when I first heard the things that you were accused of doing, I was very upset. I'm glad to see that wasn't the case at all and I commend you for standing up for yourself.

As for me, I had kidney failure when I was 13 and almost died. I had a transplant at 15 and now, almost 25 years later, my transplanted kidney is failing. I have 90% of my function gone and have to start dialysis soon. The donor was a 5 year old boy from Arkansas and he was in a car accident. That's all I know because back in 1983, donor anonymity was very strict. I know firsthand how difficult it can be undergoing operations and taking medications. I just wanted send some positive thoughts your way and I will check back here often for your progress.

    Thanks everyone!:D

Thanks, mistawiskas! I have live donors lined up and we are going through the process of eliminination to find a suitable donor. Some of the people who want to donate I have only met over the internet. It's refreshing to see that in today's world, total strangers are willing to help their fellow man. I look forward to hanging out here!

Laura, I hope your health continues to improve.

I'm sorry for the negative comments earlier, Laura... I have to admit that I took the news article too seriously and shouldn't have. Thank you for clearing up the mess for us, though. I know I can speak for everyone in saying that I have a lot of respect for you!

As yet another veteren member of the forums, welcome! Please be sure to lounge around the off-topic section often. We really have a ton of great people, with some really helpful (and controversial) topics here. Don't be a stranger!

wow. Thanks Laura for taking the time to actually register and post to clear your name! I apologize as well for the comment I made. Yet proof again that you can't believe everything in the media. This is quite sad that they did this to you and I hope you clear your name even more in the media. I hope you are healthy and your career is going well. You are definitely a beautiful woman and seem like a really down to earth and cool gal. Good to have you here at tweak3d!
