Well I'm having some doubts with my Neon so I'm thinking about what kind of car I want to get within the next year.

So far I think I was a mid size sedan but other cars appeal to me.

    I like the
Nissan Altima 3.5 (2006 and up)
    Nissan 350z (2005 and up)
Toyota Camry (2003 to 2005 era)
    Honda Civic Si

I don't know what else really. I don't want a gas guzzler. I think all these cars are in the middle when it comes to gas consumption. I just want a car that feels balanced and has some power. Driving my Neon sucks when it comes to power balance.

I was also thinking about just getting a regular Civic from the early 2000's. I don't know. I might get regret if i something that takes more gas.

Is there any other car I should consider? Also what makes a car cost more insurance? I'm 23 and never got a ticket or caused a accident...

That car list is all over the place. It sounds like you want something with power and is fun to drive but still kind of grown up. Short of jumping into the Lexus/Infinite/BMW range I'd look at sports sedans. Legacy GT par example is an awesome car. It won't be able to keep up with a WRX or even a modded SI but it'll still be quite fun to drive. I really enjoyed my RSX-S that I had, it's not roomy by any means but its not much smaller than a Civic (plus with the 6 speed I got ~33 highway).

Where do you live and what do you do with your car? Do you have a lot of passengers? Do you want to be able to put shit it in when you need to? Are you planning on knocking some chick up in the near future?

No idea. I live in Northern Illinois 15 minutes away from the border of Wisconsin.

I do have passengers but shit, all my friends have cars as well so a 2 door wouldn't be so bad. I like the 350Z but it might be too flashy.

I'll check out the Legacy. I barely ever have to put a lot of crap in my car so I don't need to have huge space.

I'm revamping the list to just

Nissan Altima 3.5 (2006 and up)
Toyota Camry (2003 to 2005 era 6 cylinders)

It's just gonna be a car to get me from point A to B.

Indeed. I've got an 04 V6 EX-L and it's a gorgeous and comfortable car. If you don't mind the auto lag the car's got some get up and go even for an automatic. (There's a 6 speed available for the car too.)

If you get one before the model change keep two things in mind, first that they do get better gas mileage than the new ones as they're a bit smaller and lighter and that the model is known for a "rattle" issue. I looked at about a half dozen cars before I found the one I purchased that was sans rattle.

I'm thinkin the guy wants an affordable sports car since the 350-Z was forementioned.

If that's the case, get one. They're great cars with a huge aftermarket following. People either love/hate the exhaust note but that can be changed fairly easily. Top Gear ranked it a fun car to drive against a porsche boxter I believe. I've always liked the sound and styling. The performance is ok to start with but then again I like to tune my cars so potential means alot to me and there is quite a bit of potential to say the least.

your original list made me lol, it went from like soulless family car to 2 door sports car ;P

I'm still kinda having a hard time deciding what you really want, my advise is to really put some thought into what you really look for in a car and make us a list.

    new/used?
    auto/stick?
    price you want to spent?
anything you really want or do not want?

the civic SI seems to be a pretty good compromise of what you've kinda listed. Its really decent on gas(but it still takes premium), its surprisingly quick, they're up to 200HP in them now in a 2900 lbs car, and a factory LSD which is a really nice plus. 2 door or 4 door aswell. new if you want the option to lease, still not totaly sure what your after.

My buddy has a 2007 Altima and loves it. He's a US Marine and motorcycle enthusiast, and knows a thing or two about excitement.

Yes but it's an Altima. It's like driving an imported Buick. Sure it's got some get up and go for a sedan but wtf it's a Nissan sedan.

Accord 2 Door if you want practical.

350Z, RSX/SI or WRX/Legacy GT if you want some excitement.

    End thread.

I wouldn't go that far, there are a ton of cool car choices out there, we just need to know what he's actaully looking for.

Would a 350z be costly insurance wise?

You're and under 25 male. Unless you're married or insure the car under someone else's name insurance is about raping you.

Oh well. I really like Sedans. I'd get a Dodge Charger. I love the looks of one. Too bad their shit quality.
I want a black Camry v6, or a black Avalon but those are way expensive.

Probably the best car you can get for what you want is a 95 saturn wagon sw2! It's got power, gets 30-33mpg and is a babe magnet like no other!!

It's what I have and works perfect!!
