Jumped on a decent deal for a new TV today. LG 60” 600Hz 1080P TruSlim Plasma TV with 3,000,000:1 DCR Easy to justify considering the time spent watching movies. 60" plasma. That ought satisfy my upgraditis for a while. aranoid:
I bought a new mouse. An Engage wired optical wheelmouse, from Office Max. Only $18, and it works as well as my old MX400 laser mouse, and has all the same features as well, except for the laser part. (I love logitech mice, but the left-click buttons just never last very long for me!)
Tickets to go to a Tiesto show in Atlantic City later in the month. Edit: Haha, though it seems this is in the tech section... whoops.
This'll be my first but the basic characteristics of plasma seem to suit my needs better than LCD (at least from what I've read). And of course at this size it's a bit more cost effective.
I want a 60" plasma for my next tv. but I'm saving money right now. good purchase! I'm getting rather fed up with these shitty asus gtx470s. I've had nothing but problems with these cards. I'm really tempted to drive up to microcenter and grab two sapphire 6950s today. But then I'd still need waterblocks, and I'd still have these 2 cards I would need to get rid of somehow. fuck you, asus. fuck you hard.
My movie amounts on my hard drive just jumped quite a bit, so I'm looking at picking up a 2TB WD Green drive just for backing that stuff up. Or maybe get two of them, so that I have a main drive, and a backup drive, freeing up 2TB WD Black for just games and stuff. Decisions.
I bought the 42" LED Westinghouse from Woot a few weeks ago LED is where its at! They are super thin and it has a pretty good picture for only being $500!
I bought a 20" monitor for my PC, and a wireless adapter for the file server I'm building for my dad. I have no need for new gadgets ATM.
well. I bought something lol. Bought a sapphire 6950. bout to drain my loop and install it. Then I'll have to put the aircooling back on the gtx470s, see which is busted and mail it off. Then once I get those back I'll be selling two gtx470s with EK blocks and back plates if anyone's interested
I just made the amusing discovery that my "Engage" mouse is just a rebranded Gigabyte GM-M6800 optical mouse, which itself might just be a generic mouse with the Gigabyte brand label slapped on it. Even the shape of the label and mouse feet are identical...
Very nice Heavy-D. I'm still rocking the Razr phone, so I'm WAY behind the times. I bought a Honda Fit for my Mom, that's sorta cool. Girly color though...

Well, it's slow on my side about technology. Because I just moved in my own condo on March 1st. So I'm buying furniture, decorations, house appliances, etc. When it's ready I'll make a picture thread. Looks good so far, but I still need a new couch and something to hold my TV. Not sure yet if I'll chose a wallmount or some kind of table with place to put my Media center and decoder (or both).
Went in with my brother and bought my mom an iPad for her birthday. Then Saturday night the damn cat knocked over a glass of water onto my keyboard so had to grab a new one from the apple store. Ended up grabbing an apple tv on an impulse buy. Not sure how much I like it so far, may end up returning it and getting a roku. Oh and bought myself a washer dryer a few weeks back, guess that makes me a grownup. :-/
No growing up But as long as this has gone off topic from tech gear. I bought a beer. Well, three of them...
"Growing up" doesn't mean you can't buy yourself something cool once in a while. In fact, "growing up" means that you "can" buy yourself something cool once in a while.
I suppose that's true. Wasn't Dan's sig (or maybe it still is?) some quote like "being an adult is like being a kid with more toys"??
But man... I think you just bought yourself some unbeleivable trip... so no wonders you're not focused on toys for now!
