the man from AT&T just left my house, but while he was hear showed me my line speed 27402 KB down and 2048 KB up but its capped at my modem/router to 3000 KB down and 1000KB up, im would violate my contract if i where to modify my router and my old internet/television/phone was 6000 down and 546kb up, now that im getting to the point is there a program out there i can upload to my modem that will disable the cap?
    [IMG] is my current speed

Don't bother, at&t will be upping the speeds soon (early next year I believe).

what you're asking about is called "uncapping", but to the best of my knowledge it can only be done with cable modems. when a cable modem boots up it downloads a configuration file from your isp's tftp server which contains the modem cap info. it used to be as simple as using an expolit to upload your own config without any caps, but it has gotten to the point now where you have to reflash the modem to a hacked firmware and clone a mac address.......i won't get into that but basically to answer your question, you won't be able to uncap your speeds since youre not on a cable network

Uncapping is ridiculously hard. I haven't seen it done in a couple years. For a while I was getting 18mbit/s which at the time was ungodly fast. I still have a couple SB4200's and 4100's in the closet collecting dust, lol.

Uncapping is highly illegal and probably violates federal laws(FCC), but it can also be a great way to learn about computer and networking hardware/software.

Try TCNiSO or Fibercoax.net if you would like to expand your knowledge on networking.

Well, seeing as you don't have cable. No they wont, cause you couldn't even uncap if you wanted to.
