I think you might be right. What gets me though is that so many poor uneducated people swing Republican, but that's the group the party doesn't give 2 shits about. It's so pathetic to me that stupid shit like religion and abortion stances are deciding factors in voting.

You could could put up the most charismatic person on Earth who has the best fiscal plan America has ever seen, but if he's pro-life he'll lose every time.

A lot of uneducated people vote Democratic. Almost all my friends are Obamabots but can't even tell me one thing about him.

I think the point between uneducated americans and your retarded friends is a different point. Your friends are just young and going with the cool candidate.

I dunno. When I was voting for the first time I actually supported former California governor Jerry Brown (Democrat). He was for a flat tax and a lot of other stuff that just made sense to me, but in hindsight was just too radical to win support from coast to coast.

Anyway, my point is that I was young and he was not cool at all. The "uneducated" vote that year probably went to Slick Willy. :)

Did it ever occur to anyone that the reason why the Democrats do poorly is because they just put up the absolute worst candidates (Kerry) based entirely on their image (Kerry's military service) and what they think will look good to the average voter (Obama) who's only information comes from the likes of CBS, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc.

The big reason Obama and Hillary even have a chance this year and the reason why a loser like McCain is the Republican nominee is because Bush along with senators and congressmen have really done quite a good job of alienating conservatives and Republicans in the party, less on the congress side but the senate is totally disconnected and they showed it with their attempt to grant amnesty. Then all the sudden people called in and they were like "whoa people were actually paying attention, you mean there's voters out there who expect us to represent them and America's best interests, whoa."

Bush has just turned everyone off. He along with help from many senators and congressmen actually blurred the line between Democrat and Republican on many issues to the point where many people don't even feel like voting because they don't believe that there would be much of a difference anyway. Bush has also just done a terrible job on so many things that there is no confidence in him from his own base. Some voters want revenge and to teach the Republicans a lesson, some have lost interest, don't care, and will not vote, others just don't register and/or don't vote despite identifying with and supporting a particular candidate because they truly are just riding the wave and are probably too lazy to actually go out and vote after all is said and done.

On a side note, I find it amusing that DNC throws out all of the votes in Florida and Michigan (yes Obama wasn't on the list, no campaign, boo hoo) as punishment for the states trying to move their primaries up and would make the states have a redo at their own expense. Very democratic indeed for all the talk out of them about every vote counting. Another reason why the current stupid and outdated primary system needs to be done away with and given an overhaul. I haven't even gotten to freaking vote yet and their is no choice any longer. That's very American, my vote doesn't count at all.

I don't know who's going to win but here is my prediction: there is going to be a huge vote counting scandal because of the diebold machines. And we'll find out that diebold wasn't willing to rig the machines so that's why United Technologies just bid 2billion+ to buy them out, so that they can get things 'ready' in time. :tinfoil::p

Didn't a lot of states ban electronic voting? I know California did.

We vote by mail. But machines count the votes.
