So me and a couple guys from work are planning to enter in a 24 hour LeMon Race. Here are the stipulations $500 dollars total for the car and any mods $500 dollar entry fee $100 dollar per driver max of 6 drivers $75 dollar per pit crew members car must have a racing seat car must have a roll cage bunch of other minor rules. what do you guys think ?
Sounds like a lot of fun. I'd probably look for 2nd generation RX7s but it depends on the type of race. If you do enter, keep us posted so we can be "part of the team" and recommend stuff to do on the car. Or maybe an old Civic, or even a VW GTI like this one
that sounds awesome where would you be racing? RX-7 would be good, but i'd be paranoid about reliability MKI supercharged MR2 would be awesome if you can find a cheap one. you could probably find a CRX and drop in like a B18A or one of the unpopular none v-tec engines no one wants.
not really worth the effort in swapping engines because they can actually vote to destroy your car. ( they have the rule to make sure all the cars are beaters)
Racing: The Top 44 Lemons of 24 Hours of LeMons! haha looks like it'd be fun I think it's held at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, California
yeah I went to the official website, and they have them all over. There's one in Houston this month...I may try to go. Can people spectate?
I say go for it. I looked at those pages and I say Ford Probe. One of the worst lemons out there. You should get a prize just for driving up in one. Otherwise, any Ford getting smashed up is good news to me.
