Man, I thought that was gonna be some hippy ass Day After Tomorrow shit. Instead, I got punched in the face with awesome.
Looks cool. Great trailer except for the last part ("Find out the truth search 2012" crap). It's assinine how the majority of tinfoil hat wearers believe The pyramids were only possible with other-worldly help yet they trust the Mayans for the date of the end of the world. *shakes head*
that was epic beyond proportions i cant even explain. im a fan of day after tomorrow, War of the worlds, etc etc so this will suit me well. i watched too much of the trailer though, trailers like this tend to spoil the real ride. so hopefully i'll forget about this before the release. a november 2009 release??! what? too early. shouldve waited till 2010 at least. let the hype really build up.
Seriously. But I will admit Independence Day is my favorite Bad Movie to watch, so who knows, this could be enjoyable somehow
Most people don't check shit out. The Mayan's weren't the only society to pinpoint that day. It is not the end of the world, more like it's when thier calendars end. Kinda like when the odometer flips from 99,999.9-00,000.0. The prophesies by those clerics of old, foretold of a cleansing, a new beginning, not a total anihilation. It does make for a good movie topic though. How much research has any one of our members really done on the subject? What I see is alot of wholesale ridicule and discounting without ever even checking out the subject. Sure, there are alot of worse case scenarios rolling around on the web. There are alot of best case scenarios too. The actual happening is usually in the middle somewhere. I don't notice any "tinfoil hat wearers" name calling and resorting to highschool/juvenile type crap when others don't see things thier way. IMHO: I'd rather see mankind go out in a blaze of glory with a happening the proportions of what the movies and "tinfoil hat wearers' portray/predict, than watch us go out by commiting the slow but sure suicide we are now.
I usually like these kind of movies..and the trailer was good until he drove off a crashing plane. Then I rewatched it and realized how goofy some of the other shit was. I'll probably see it for the effects and not the predictable story line. Plus, the casting looks horrible.
I like these type of movies too but also like most of them, they will be predictable and have bad acting. the idea is cool and the special effects will probably be sweet but that's about it.
