I heard about this movie last night and after watching the trailer I want to see this movie! 2012 Official Site
<Enter Vin Diesel> NOS! jk, it looks pretty good. The cast seems decent - 2012 (2009/I) I like Cusack
Oh cool Danny Glover is the president. Don't they always have black presidents in movies when its the end of the world?
My buddy and I were talking about Deep Impact last night and discussing the possibilities of being hit by 'Dark Meteors". I came to the realization that the president in there was also an African American. Now with 2012 having the same thing, is this just showing us what is to come?
"They wouldn't" That's a possible explanation for the political insanity, the money grubbing and destination for some of those "record profits" as of late. they be takin' the money and runnin'. Building a safety ark or something. I will be seeing this film! Can it be? Meet Nibiru 2 - Video
Man, I was hoping this was going to be something from the Heinlein universe, dealing with the rise of The Prophet...
Hollywood has already raped the Heinlein universe enough with Starship Troopers. They just need to let it be for the near future. Also, how many threads are we going to have about this movie?
I did a quick search looking for "2012" and found no other threads on the first page, so figured I would post it since I had not seen it here before.
I searched and couldn't find any other threads either though I could have sworn we'd had several already. *shrug*
There's usually a trend with these kind of movies. Massive wall of fire/water/other kills thousands and destroys cities. Small amounts of people live and a resolution is found in the end. They're still great for entertainment, but not to go crazy about.
hey! i loved day after tommorrow! so this movie is going to be about the ice caps melting and flooding the world? uhh.. i was expecting something a little more.. i dunno.. interesting?
A disaster movie about Nibiru would rock, that's why I posted that YT vid. Why has it not been done yet? Disater movies where there is triumpant endings are great! The 70's had a whole slough of them, full of the biggest names in movies, state of the art FX.
The day after tomorrow was such a pile of garbage. I could hear Al Gore in my head narrating the whole thing. Ugh. Al Gore.
