    Ok here goes....

    1. Ever since I reformatted my computer about a week ago, my audio seems to just cut out at random times, then comes back in when ever it feels it is apropriate. Is their some universal audio driver I can use, or is it mobo specific?

    2. My friend wants me to clean out his entire system for him (reformat). He has a stock compaq. I have a disk with audio, usb, ethernet drivers on it but I am unsure that these drivers will work with his equiptment. I have ASUS drivers, is there any difference, will I have to find the drivers for the compaq board that he has?

    Thanks guys!

no sound card but im using the ASUS P4P800-E Delux Board. I have the driver disk, should I just try to reinstall the driver from the disk, or go to the site?

well I went and downloaded the latest drivers but my sound still skips on and off when ever it wants to. Man, This sucks, I wish I could find a solution.

    ***EDIT***

I searched around on google and I found one solution that has seemed to work so far.....They said to go into audio playback settings and turn down hardware acceleration all the way down. I did that and now I have no problems.

It works for now but is there a cheap, CHEAP sound card out there that will give me at least the quality of sound that my onboard gives me? Sorry I know nothing about soundcards because I never thought that I would need one, and I may not, but if this problem comes back than I'm gonna Need to do something.
