When Patents Attack!
Gotta luv our broken systems for patent, trademark, and copyright...
I listened to that whole story when it first aired as I helped my dad rebuild a shed in the back yard.
Fascinating stuff, and a very sad reflection of our world these days.
In the words of most bureaucrats i've ever complained about thier system being broken: "we know the system is broken........but it's the only one we have".
The specific bureaurocracies iIspeak of and have had dealings with are but not limited to:
Dept of Justice (Or. and USA)
Oregon's highway dept (ODOT)
health and human services (Or and USA)
US district Courts
Do all these bureaucrats go to a class that teaches them to say the exact same thing in response to criticism of their respective "systems"? It really makes me wonder.
Replace OR with IL, and that could almost be my list!
I'd shit my drawers on the spot if a bureaucrat/cronie had a different response. When the private sector is doing anything that doesn't work, they either fix it or go away. The inexhaustible American wallet may have something to do with it.
I heard Somalia is doing pretty well without bureaucracy.
Somalia has plenty of bureaucracy. Overlapping, competing, hyperlocal bureaucracy. Bureaucracy with AK47s in your face, where the bureaucrat is your judge, jury, and executioner. What they don't have is one unified bureaucracy!
And infinite tax dollars to toy around with.
How do you keep track of that many shell companies? Holy shit!
Separate names with a comma.
