JAMES KENNEDY - 3D ARTIST
Hi my name is James Kennedy and I love video games!
I'd like to think of myself as well-rounded and my versatility can be a great asset to a team.
Some of my skills include efficient low and high poly modeling, texturing, rigging, skinning, shader authoring, pipeline development and intimate knowledge of several 3D packages and engines.
Here is a selection of my work from CloudParty, a web based HTML5 virtual world that runs entirely in your browser.
At Cloudparty I was primarily tasked with avatar asset creation and refinement. I also did a bit of environment and prop art, a few texture packs and built a world or two as well.

Costume pieces - These range from
practical to absurd :) Typically these are around 1000
triangles with a 512x512 or less normal map and a smaller tint mask
texture to
customize colors and add pattern variation to the clothing. I also
reused the same textures and materials whenever possible to save on memory.

Hair
- All the hairstyles use the same texture
and are under 500 triangles and fully tintable. Low poly hair can
be especially tricky but luckily I had a nice hair shader to use.

New
faces and facial deformation - I was tasked with making a new
facial rig and getting it to work with our existing low poly heads. It
works well considering each head mesh is just under 800
triangles.
