now if they would only slap a phone on it...

I can't stand to carry a phone and a separate media device. part of the reason why I'm contemplating switching to at&t just to get the iphone because my windows mobile device just isn't all that great for media.

They just need to make sure that you can connect it to the XBOX 360 and download shit from there, too. I don't know if you can already do this with the Zune, though.

there will be full integration between 360 and zunehd, im thinking we'll be able to play live arcade games on the zunehd. 360 will have its own zune panel, and zune will have its 360 portion.

also, windows mobile 7 is expected to be nearing finish by the end of this year. maybe some rom leaks by november. so microsoft has been hella busy lately.

some are also speculating windows mobile 7 can and will be ported to the zunehd, or maybe thats what its running.

microsoft has said they have no intention of making a media Windows Mobile phone. Although Apple denied the iphone as well so it's hard to know. I just don't see how it wouldn't be a win to have a zune/windows mobile combined device. If Windows Mobile 7 actually becomes a good upgrade, Microsoft could gain some big market share.

Looks nice. I'm definitely in the market for a new player, I'm still using an old Gen 5 iPod.

the problem with the ms media device+phone idea is.. what cellular technology will it be, and what carrier will be exclusive. at&t is buddy buddy with apple, the others google/android. then youre left with the opinionated "failing" sprint cdma technology. i dont think ms would wanna take that risk... i dunno. im sure it'll have a mic built in for skype.

i don't know why it has to be exclusive with anybody. And just because at&t is buddy buddy with apple, that doesn't mean that they can't do a ms device too. hell, at&t still gets the best windows mobile phones as it is. android isn't even exclusive anymore. t-mobile had that short exclusive but i believe one has come out for at&t now and will continue to come out for other carriers. hell put it on t-mobile lol. they could use all the help they can get in regards to good phones.

oh and skype sucks. sorry, that's not an alternative to cell phones, not until there is nationwide wi-fi anyways. i tried skype on my tilt through wi-fi and it was not even usable at all. and there are more to cell phones than just talk. i rarely talk on mine but i text, email, browse, sync a lot.

maybe i'm wrong but i think microsoft is dumb not to do a windows mobile/zune device to compete with apple.

The BB Storm can be used on all networks, I don't see why MS can't make a phone that is compatible with all networks as well.

well it's not even that it has to be a world phone like the BB Storm. they can make a GSM version and a CDMA version to go on every network. They must not want to get into the cell phone hardware business (HTC makes their Windows Mobile phones for the most part).

Badass! I've had my Zune for 4 or 5 years now and it still works perfectly! I may just have to upgrade.
