It's an anything goes sort of religion. So if you're not too hung up on beliefs and think one should believe whatever they want, you're likely going to line up with them somehow. Well, secular humanists reject any sense of God but seek a betterment of one's and society's morality. Nontheist would arguably reject both a higher power and a set of moral guidelines and therefore not believe in an advancement of social morals. Most secular humanist are atheists/agnostics but not all atheist/agnostics are secular humanists.
