I'm allergic to any form of corn syrup (HFCS, regular, and solids). It does horrible things to my body. If I have any of it all of my joints start to ache and my neck starts twitching (similar to tourette's tics). I really wish food manufacturer's would figure out a way to make their food taste good and last without it. Going grocery shopping sucks so much. Things as simple as ketchup cost 2-3 times more than regular would since I have to buy organic. Unless I'm in a city, shopping is near impossible.

The only good thing to come out of me developing my allergy (at 22) is that my family has become more aware of corn syrup's effects on the body so they now read ingredient labels and have cut it out of their diets.

Sometimes I wonder why Stevia isn't more prevalent in the market, seeing as how it's supposed to be better than cane sugar in every way and obviously better than HFCS... Then I remember that it's more expensive to grow and process, which means nobody will want to use it.

And speaking of which, I was just at the grocery store picking up some stuff and ahead of me was this monstrous lady with a shopping cart full of--you guessed it, processed 'diet' foods. I was kind of sad to see that...

Kerr jars and we freeze the greenbeans and corn. The canning and freezing goes on theroughout the growing season so there's not a gazillion to do all at once. May try my hand at stealing some bee honey if I can locate a hive. I may put an add in craigslist....I found a smoke can out in the barn, just need some bee netting and i'm getting some hunay! Anyone else ever grab some comb and render the honey from it?

I was grocery shopping with my mom last night and she was looking at the "diet" foods as well. I kindly gave her a lesson in the amount of sodium in those things and how they're bad for you. It's amazing how many people aren't aware of simple things like that.

Bump for all those that havent seen this. You should watch it seriously.

After like two weeks I finally got my mom to watch it and it hit home for her really because when she was pregnant with me and I was a baby she was on WIC and all the issues he talks about with it resounded with her. She apologized to me for feeding me all that bad food when I was young and feels bad about it. I told her its okay, its not like she knew and almost everyone is oblivious to it all. I am just glad she saw it.

She was always into healthy foods and stuff, but for some reason her and my sister (13 now) haven't been able to lose much weight. I think this might give that logical and emotional impact to help them make those changes. Even if my little sister is resistant to them, my mom is going to make sure that what is at her house is really healthy and not just pretend.

    WATCH IT!

finally got to watch this.. dude was laying the education down! should keep me motivated to stay away from sodas.

he even proved how sodas/foods are addictive making the fatties look like the victims, lol
fructose is like a zombie poison. it zombificates the brain into thinking its not hungry, leaving you to eat more and more.

i already knew there was fructose additives in baby formulas.. thats fucked up.

but it boils down to my own personal conspiracy.
the government and privatized organizations are adding these poisons to make americans bigger and "stronger". America has always been "big big big" against other countries.. taller and fatter is what the army is looking for to train into monsters.
so not only is fructose a poison for heart problems and health problems, a money maker, and cheap alternative, it also doubles as a growth compound to keep americans on the uprise of bulking.

he didnt mention mexico still using real sugar in their cocacolas though, surprised he didnt mention that

Mexico uses sugar because it's still cheap. We'd likely still be using it if corn wasn't so heavily subsidized by the government. If any of you haven't seen King Corn, go rent it now it'll give you a great insight as to why HFCS is so cheap.

Got my mother and sister to watch most of this video and they are changing their diet. Only problem HFCS is in almost every freakin thing. Stopping my Coca Cola addiction is a bitch.
