Ok, let's agree on the same term to search and both post up a screne shot of what we get.

How about something simple like: "lemon"

To cleanse your search, try logging out of (if you're logged into) Google, then clear out all your history cache and cookies, then try the search again while logged out.

Lemon may be too generic a search term. We may want to try using another search term like Kent State.

check how many results there are. There's 1 million results discrepency for "lemon".
  11. There is a spyware/virii/trojan floating around that replaces random links off google searches into ad links. Ask me how I know, come on, ask me!

I don't think "lemon" was a good term to use.

maybe lemon party would have been more appropriate.

EDIT: I think i still get news results at the top, maybe its some kind of setting?

my results are the same as my phone so its no spyware, ive also done a scan..

theyve added a filter to filter out torrent and warez sites. i think thats what i notice.
either way, theyve tweaked their results from last month.. its noticable to me

I'm telling you, for unfiltered and no spam links use scroogle instead. It's not as pretty but the results are better in my opinion.

I'm beginning to want to shy away from all things mainstream. Not just my bug-out from civilization, but even on-line. There's just one scam after another.
  17. ugh. I can't believe that google has been getting destroyed by these scraping/spam sites!

Here's a real example of google results that are ruined by spammers who understand how google works. I google for "A540 tilt shift"... After seeing a video of a timelapse/tiltshift video using my camera. I want to know how they did it, hence googling.

Out of the first ten results two are legitimate and two are suspect. They're suspect because they appear to scrape flikr, but not obvious spam because one has no ads, and the other has a bunch of ads, but also comments.

So out of 10 google results 6 are obviously worthless. WTF!?

I remember all those olden days: webcrawler, altavista, hotbot, etc.

I also remember the joys of finding free porn sites when there weren't virii and trojans hidden in banner ads and false links or redirects .
It's all just one big scam now where everyone wants to get ahold of your cash and/or computer power.
