I got this badd bitch running sweet! Spent all day yesterday installing and making sure everything is right. ATI repos driver, adjusted the x11 conf file for more resolution, installed xgl+compiz, and im delighted! only problem i had at first with it was, the effects are annoying so i installed the compiz config applet and that let me adjust what the effects can and cant do. Got rid of the wobbly and fade, very annoying my questions are what are some more tweaks i can get rid of on this xgl? I just really want the 3d cube thing, nothing else. theres 2 flashes of gray desktop before the ubuntu desktop loads up, how can i get rid of that ugly shit or is that normal for everyone? how can i make sure i got 3d acceleration on and how can i test for performace? i installed swiftfox and now i wanna get rid of firefox, how do i do that with destroying any swiftfox files?
I know this is kind of old, but I just got XGL working, and aside from it's extreme instability, it's sexy. It seems to crash only when I'm typing, which is really weird.
