Ok every single original Xbox game I've put into my 360 is throwing back this error message -

WTF does that mean? I didn't download the game, I'm running it from the original disc. I've not modded my 360 in any way at all, I've not even had it that long! The last BC update I put on was 12/07. The discs are fine because they're running ok on my housemates original Xbox (we broke it out just to test this).

PLEASE help on this, I wanna play Burnout 3 online :p

edited by Dan: added the error to the thread title to help people find it via search engines.

Delete the BC update and let the Xbox download it again.

How do I do that? Seems like a logical solution!

    Go to the System blade
    Select Memory
Highlight your hard drive and hit Y
    Press X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X, X

The only problem with this is it also deletes your other game updates so you will need to download all of those again as well.

Is that all it deletes? Just the game updates? It doesn't touch the gamer profiles or gamesaves?

Correct, just updates and cache. The cache is used to make loading games faster, etc. This will not touch your game saves or profiles.

    Ok, that didn't work :(

I still get the same error message. I even formatted the hard drive and started all over again but still the same result.

Woah, why did you format? Didn't you lose all your profiles and save games? I hope you backed up everything to a memory card first. Give Xbox support a call and see what they say.

I only got the hard drive today, all I had on it was a Dead Rising save (I was like 10 minutes into it) and one Gamercard that I can recover, so it wasn't that big a deal.

I'll give them a bell tomorrow. Just hope it doesn't result in needing my warranty, since I bought it off eBay and it has none!

    Hi,
I am in the same situation my Xbox always displays this error, not when only playing backwards compatible games but any game and MCE displays this message intermittently I also tried the HDD maintenance (X, X, LB, RB, X, X) but still no help the nearest I could get was taking the disk out and disconnect the HDD and leave the 360 off for 5 minutes and it MIGHT start the game this was not how the 360 was designed to work so you must understand how irritating this is for me especially using the MCE extender for most of my television viewing and recording, I also bought the 360 off eBay so I don't have any warranty nether (Damn me for not waiting till they were back in the shops) any reply's on the issue would be greatly appreciated?

    Thanks
    Scott

P.S. Any news on what MS support said on the matter?
