Do mod chips play regular emulators for the PC or do they have to be made for the xbox?

The executables are different, so they're more like ports, but yes it has to be made the Xbox, .xbe executables.

Yep. You can do lots of things on it. It's basically a 733Mhz Celeron PC in a little box.

I had Linux on mine, with two USB ports for Keyboard and Mouse.

Friend of mine was running linux on his ps3, he also had it installed on our store demo, it was pretty cool. Uses all 6 of the cpu's on the ps3.
Looking at the fact that it only has 256megs of ram and no usable wifi or video card for linux support I was stooped as to why someone would want to do this.

    Password cracking.

Seriously, this is like a mini super computer for password cracking, its fucking awesome. Encrypted files can be cracked in 1/5 the time it takes on a regular PC, and if you have some cash you can link up to 6 PS3's together on a network for a totall of 36 processors to speed things up even more!

Then again, if your not cracking, then really whats the point.
