Ok this is something that is botherin me. I'm a level 21 pally, and I just finished the deadmines. Up until now, the quests had a direction leading me where to go. Now, I don't really know what do to do...I can do Ironforge, Stormwind, lakeshire. The game doesn't really give you much direction. So what am I supposed to do? Just go wherever I want? Is that how it's supposed to be.
At level 20 you can get a paladin quest for a 2 handed mace. I'm not sure if it starts in IF or SW. It does good damage but you'll need a group to complete the quests. By the time you can solo it the weapon is garbage.
That's why I really dislike playing on Alliance. The Horde quests move along really well and you have a really good sense of where to go. I made it to lvl 40 without anyone telling me where to level, I only made it to 20 before I felt lost on Alliance. I also found myself grinding most of my Alliance levels due to lack of quests, whereas my Horde character gained almost all levels from quests and instances.
Are you all serious? It isn't hard to figure out where you go. Alliance was easy. I think it's a good flow and I knew where to go without asking anyone. Both sides are fine. I don't know how you didn't know.
man, you shouldnt be lost after the deadmines if you read what the NPCs had to tell you. Hint: the Defias chain goes to the stockades after the deadmines. But if I remember correctly, you'll prolly have to talk to the mayor-admin kinda guy in the cathedral district. And yes, to your general question, you can wander around. Each zone has it's quest network, and you'll see some of the quest intertwine. But deadmines leads to the stockades and stormwind, then therramore Also, in a few level, you'll be the level to play in darkshire, awesome quests there. The terrain is big and dying sucks though.
