Wow. The term ignorance is bliss sure applies to this game. I just read it was supposed to come out back in 2009.

im in love, its everything i wanted valve to RECREATE YEARS AND YEARS AGO!!!!!! :\ :\

why didnt valve do this?? i just got the first gun and im like, floored by how beautifully crafted the environments are. they really did a great job with this.
and it feels alot more challenging than the original.

I'm really excited. Downloading it now. It's been awhile since we've seen a trailer or anything, but it looks like they just upped the detail and ton and still stayed spot on with the art style.

The voice acting. Holy shit. Its obviously been replaced, but its so spot on. This feels like the perfect fan service so far -definitely not disappointed.

BMS and Source 2007 SDK have emasculated me with repeated blunt force trauma to my testicular tissues. I give up. Multiple multi-hour downloads from different servers, to try and fix the "could not load library client" error.

BMS can go bark for my support. I pee upon BMS!

my gahhdnessss, this is just what ive been wanting for so long.

either theyve added or changed up quite a bit, or ive completely forgetten everything about HL1.
i admit i havent played hl1 since i bought it back in 2001 or whatever.. but my goodness, this feels like a whole new episode

the voice acting is PRO. at times i think this cant be redone, must be from valves hidden resources vault.
ive yet to come across one glitch, or issue. so much fun and it looks SOOOO good.

Dammit, I had a series of ups-and-downs on Saturday when I finally had the opportunity to check it out.

"Shit, I need to run to the bank to deposit some scratch if I'm going to buy this."
"Aww cool, it's free! Let me go download it"
"Yesyes, here's a link.... dammit it's an .exe?!?!?"

I set my girlfriend up with Bootcamp a few months ago so she could play PC games, so she'll probably be playing it later today. My drive is too full to partition it sufficiently for a Win7 install. I saw on their website that they're anticipating a Linux release. WTF? The source engine runs in OS X, don't give me that shit. I suppose I'll figure something out. Maybe I'll run it through Wine.

I've just about given up on this. It's been a long assed wait. Going over to DL it now.
    DAMMIT!!!
@1.5 Mbs (which translates to 50-130 Kbs actual download speeds) it's going to take all day and night. Then to top that off, I have to reinstall Source2007 because of corrupt files on Steam. Oh well, I'll let it DL while I go make some money.

I think the corrupt files are in the BMS, from what I've read. I gave up after getting only the initial tram ride ending in NPCs going on strike.

At this point, I'm just going to wait on the "greenlight" process, and see if it becomes available via steam itself.

Sooooooo pisssssssed! My download just now got to 99% and up pops a window stating that the operation cannot be completed because there's not enough memory. I closed all the progs I was running and hit "retry" and nothing happened for 5 minutes. Then my DL window just closed...no download anywhere................ffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Time to letter run all night long now.

    im confused as fuk.

through half life, everyones saying got to the top! goto the top!
but through the whole game, youre going deeper and deeper underground, which i thought was funny as hell.
then out of nowhere youre at the top level fighting baddies and helicopters.

    i dont get it.
is there a visual map explaining the story of levels within this game?

im taking my time with this game and trying to explore like i always do.
ive made it to the top where the military guys get line dropped down so you can blow their asses off. really fun and it looks so good!
i cant remember much about HL, but it looks like im going back down into the tunnels and probably back deeper.

valve has always done that in their HL series.
take you deep, deeper, and deepest.. through tunnels and flooded rooms.
allow you to get a tease of fresh air at the top, then puts you back under deep into the underground.
ive always loved that storytelling and atmosphere creation. they really give you a sense of confinement and yearning to break free and escape. it really plays with the conciousness.

... did you play the same game I did? :) I was always going up when I played, except for one platform at the start that went down. The elevator kept taking me up, and all the ladders and stairs I took went upward as well. That claustrophobic and high-tension atmosphere was indeed the best part of Half Life.

I wonder how true the rumors about Half Life 3 being an open RPG style world really is. It just doesn't sound right, but at the same time, it's just the sort of thing that Valve would pull...

It seems just like the same game to me. But I'm only getting to sit for no more than an hour at a time because of it being an extreemly busy time of year.
