A bottleneck is not caused by an OS. A bottleneck is a physical limitation in the hardware. Like using a PCI card over a PCIe. A OS can be resource heavy, meaning it uses a large amount of cycles on the CPU. Know our video cards eh? I've been doing this for 9 years now (or is it 10), I am a Electronics Technician, and working on my Electrical Engineering degree. I have built numerous computers and repaired many more. I'm pretty certain that makes me more qualified than you to decide if a decision is good or bad. Here is a life suggestion, do not condensed to people who you ask for advice and who know more than you. Also read AnandTech: Video Card Section if you think you know so much. So we're not the only one saying your idea is stupid then. It's because your idea is illogical and a waste of money. If you could by a pinto and a GT-R for the same price you are buying the pinto. The GT-R is much faster and for the same cost.
Careful with the comparisons, there is a pinto wagon (I'm thinking '74 or 5) in my town that sat in a body shop lot for 6 months with a $8800 price tag on it,,, I saw / heard it on the road recently with a classic plate on it and I say heard,,,, It has a V8!
Well i guess thats the end of this thread. This is a free country and i use whatever i like, if you don't like it, too bad. You enjoy what you have and i will enjoy what i want to use. I am playing Crysis now, with my sig rig and i get 14-24fps at 1024x768 everything to low to medium. Thats good enough for me, and the gameplay is smooth. So when i get my secondary computer rig, i should get around 30-45fps, which is perfect. I don't want games moving too fast anyway. So anyways, everyone take care and keep the peace and remember, " Its only a computer " lol, stop being obsessed with graphics . hahaha People on other forums complain about 30fps in Crysis, and i am like OMG hahaha. peace
If it's enough to make you happy, there's no reason to upgrade. Props for even trying to run Crysis on a computer with those specs.
Are you fucking kidding me? Games moving "too fast"? This is not back in the DOS days where the games were limited to CPU speed, and if you upgraded the game ran too fast. There's abso-fucking-lutely no difference between 45 fps and 200 fps when it comes to gameplay, other than the game running smoother. Bullets still travel the same speed, you still run the same speed, NPC's run the same speed. Get the fuck out of here. First fucking troll to ever actually get under my skin.
Well i guess thats the end of this thread. This is a free country and i use whatever i like, if you don't like it, too bad. So why post here in the first place? If you just wanted positive reinforcement for your deciscion, go elsewhere. The guys here know wtf they are talking about and if you don't like it, that's part of what you can expect posting on a tech forum, or any forum really. BTW, this isn't a free country. Dan the President rules here.
Nah, don't be mean to him! He's relatively polite and interested in the craft. He's just a little crazy that's all.
Thread's not going to be locked because he is being polite if not all that rational. Though really, I think "games running too fast" should become a new meme.
SHHHHH! If you were at a party and there was a retard dry humping a door knob, would you want him to leave? Hell no... \\/
