Even though I never really got into the original, I may have to buy this one. I didn't really know the magic that is Blizzard until World of Warcraft and now must give all future Blizzard titles a fair shot.
Agreed, I never got into Starcraft 1. The fact that everyone knew it like the back of their hand never helped when I would play against them.
If it doesn't take a Direct X 28 card (since it will be released in 3042, Blizzard way), I'll buy it.
Probably not, in my case. I don't have the ability to play RTS games properly, and die of grunt-rush-itis within a short time, while still trying to build my first farm... (Warcraft 2) I never really got into the original Starcraft, though I played it a bit on my nephew's computer.
I sucked at the original. And I also hated it. If the unit, building and resource names (or pictures) are not entirely intuitive (ie tanks aren't called tanks, they are called zerg whateverthefucks) and the game not sufficienty fun to keep me hooked thereby allowingme to learn what is required, well than it's lost on me. Such was Starcraft's fate. I'm still enjoying my Civ4, and C&C:zh when I get around to em.
It's not like its a very hard game to figure out. Just play through the single player campaigns and you should be able to learn the units no problem.
I poped the old starcraft cd in last night. The resolution sucks but man its a fun game. Killing zerg is second in fun only to killing terrans with zerg.
That's odd, because whenever I play any Command and Conquer game every building looks exactly the same. I never have any fucking clue what I should focus my attacks on in a strike. At least SC/WC made everything look extremely unique so you know what the hell it is.
I just love the way zerg buildings blow up when you destory them. Especially with a nuke. *SIGH* Waiting for this game everyday until it comes out is going to kill me.
No, it's just not a... 'Blizzard' game. It never felt like WC, SC or Diablo to me. It was a different game, and I didn't like it. I think that's why I'm so happy about SC2; Blizzard is going back to what it does best: kickass real time strategy games. If by 'silliest' you mean most fun/awesome! haha! That's a lot of fun to do. Unless they have high templars. Or defliers. Or siege tanks. I remember when I first started playing SC I was Toss vs Toss and I built 48 zealots. I was slow, and when I attacked, the dude had 24 scouts. Heh, my bad.
I just find it funny that after the announcement, StarCraft Battle Chest is one of the top 10 sellers for last week. LOL
I voted "Maybe". It's been years since I've played SC, but when I did, I played all the time. I don't really like the "cartoonish" graphics of WarCraft, so not too sure I'm happy with them them doing the same thing to SC. We'll see
