I don't think wikileaks is as central as most people think it is. There are people all over the world that contribute in making wikileaks work. Julian Assange is just the face of it all. Even if it is "taken down" another will prop back up soon enough.

The leak was of information between embassies around the world and the US state department going back to 1966. Basically just pointing out the differences between the White House's official stance and what was actually happening. Gonna be some real bad blood out there from this.
