Bush gave tax breaks but lets not mention that. My book is a duplicate due to an error, it was free though The middle class is in their position due to their own choices, no one forced anything on them. I am middle class, why? I am still in school, when I graduate I am going to work as hard and as much as I can to change my status in the world. You know good and damn well that the "lazy fucks" that I mentioned is a reference to the trash that is 3rd and 4th generation welfare that has no ambition or drive to change themselves. I hope I am making sense, I had to have a root canal yesterday do to an accident, the Vicodin has me a bit groggy. Maybe tomorrow I can make more sense (unlikely)!
Quoting for posterity and quoting to point out the lol in the post decrying Obama's tax plan as being socialist. Wait a minute, you're still in school and you're middle class? I smell a child of privilege!
I'm glad you think that a majority of the middle class are lazy or do you think that a select few of the "lazy fucks" should penalize the hard working middle class?
Hahahahaha. Yeah, because he doesn't expect a handout and works for what he has(I assume)? Pssh.. liberals, srsly.
Socialism is a big umbrella, which can cover groups who would cheerfully kill each other on sight. Franklin D. Roosevelt would fit comfortably under this umbrella, with the whole "New Deal" as well as the command-economy that got us through World War II and well into the '60s. The GI bill is a Socialist style idea. Before, the norm was to ditch the soldiers. A young Douglas MacArthur was in charge of clearing out the Bonus Army, using the popular buzzwords of the time, "Communists and Pacifists" Also, if he's in school still, no amount of work is going to get him in the middle class, because he won't have enough non-school time for it. So his middle-classness has to come externally. Unless the school he's going to is College, later in life, having already "middle-class-ified" himself. Sheesh. Conservatives! On a seriouser note: this whole thread shows just what sort of divide we all have to bridge. In all honesty, I'm not sure it can be bridged right now, with all the charged up emotions vested in our positions. Whatever Socialism used to mean, nowadays it's just an epithet mostly, used to devalue other's opinions by association with a negative buzzword, sort of like "Fundamentalist" is for the other side.
I am so sorry that me and my wife work full time jobs and go to school. Maybe we should quit our jobs so that we can fit your stereotype. I didn't have shit growing up, everything I have I worked for. I guess I am privileged since I didn't smoke or drink all of my money away and that I saved as much as possible so that I was able to buy what I needed.
Don't listen to the bleeding hearts on here. Keep doing what you're doing and good things will come your way. Fuck all the haters.
thank you very fucking much i put in 230hrs last month + am doing 9 hours of classes. no social life but i get moneys and no debt from school
Unless, of coarse, some misfortune or entity takes it all from you to better their or it's mission in life. Seriously, some young people are in for a real education.......the kind you can't get at a school. A narrow mind is a terrible thing to waste, I guess.
So, you go to school and are married but you're middle class? I guess you aren't paying your student loans yet. I was pretty much considered homeless when I was in college, so you must have married up the food chain.
An insightful and well thought out argument. It ranks right up there with "Bleeding Heart" being a bad thing, heaven forbid people actually care about others outside of themselves.
So whats the alternative, say that you're fucked and not even try? There are a few things that you have control over and your education is one of them.
Honestly I am frustrated that people lack basic judgment skills and blame the consequences on other people. What ever happened to taking responsibility for your actions? You have to EARN everything in life, nothing is free. Tell me any sob story you want but I can guarantee that any situation outside of illness or injury, is due to their actions and decisions. If I fuck up I have to bear the consequences, no one is willing to do that, the whole "It's not my fault" mentality is bullshit. Too many baby boomers have raised their children to believe that they are owed the world. Previous generations have caused a lot of the problems that we have today and they will not own up and accept responsibility. Read 1984, that is what your piece of shit liberal government will get you.
