I usually watch CNET's the apple byte and I have been watching this new one where they go over new tech and do some durability tests on it.

I also just found out that ben heck has a show. I have only watched the most recent one where he builds these automatic sunglasses but it was great. He is pretty funny in it and also what he goes over is pretty interesting as well.

Only watch TWiT podcasts sometimes. However, work and light rail commute give me plenty of listening time:

Plus This American Life and Ricky Gervais. Unplayed count isn't accurate as I've had to resubscribe after setting up my i5 as new.

Gad zooks, that's a long list! I just listen to NPR on the radio -- no need for podcastery there... ;)

Though I do tend to check out Science Friday's video pick of the week.

    Some of those look tasty.

I almost hate to admit I listen to comedians' podcasts* more than anything else, though these aren't necessarily "comedy" per se:
    Marc Maron - WTF?
Bill Burr - The Monday Morning Podcast
Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan, and David Huntsberger - Professor Blastoff
Jimmy Dore - Comedy and Everything Else (not regularly updated)

    Geek:
    Slacker Astronomy
Geek's Guide to the Galaxy (the WIRED magazine podcast)
Leo Laporte - The Tech Guy

    Guilty Pleasure:
Car Talk (the PBS Saturday morning radio show with Klick & Klack, the Tappit brothers)

    * Yay, comedians! Bill Burr, and Al Madrigal from the Daily Show, started a sort of "collective" for comedians' podcasts at

Bump for 2016. I still listen to some of the same ones (Burr, Maron, and Car Talk), but Professor Blastoff is no more now that Tig Nataro and Kyle Dunnegan's careers finally took off.

The geek ones I was listening to became boring to me, if anyone has any ideas I'm game.

I also started listening to The Joe Rogan Experience, the Cracked podcast, and depending on the movie, How Did That Get Made?

Actually I don't watch them, I like to listen to them while driving. To watch, usually there's a video you can watch from the podcast website or youtube or iTunes. You can get a lot of downloadable audio ones from iTunes, but I usually download them (.mp3's) directly from the podcast's site and throw them onto my little Sansa Clip+ audio player. There is software like an RSS feed that allows a person to subscribe to a particular podcast or podcasts and then automatically downloads each new episode, but I like to pick and choose so I just do it manually.

Podcasts have really blown up in the last five years. E.g., Obama was on Marc Maron's a few months ago. You can probably find at least one for nearly any interest you have.

I use my Sansa Clip for portable music, too, so I don't personally use any particular apps, but I'd guess there are tons. I have some music on my phone, but it's all transferred over from my computer via USB. You might take a look at 4shared, which is an app that has access to a ton of free music, from what I can tell. If you already have a decent iTunes library, you might try doubleTwist for syncing with your Android device.

I don't have much of an iTunes library.i also can't access my icloud for some shitty ass reason. I can't see any videos or pictures of my kids over the last 4 years that I had the iphone

If I got 4 shared, would each song take up space on my phone?

That's what it looks like, a downloading service. If you want streaming and have the bandwidth, you might try Soundcloud or Pandora.

Why I don't like Apple stuff. It's overpriced and it's proprietary. There's probably some way you can get to that data and move it out of its Apple imprisonment.

Fuck yea. Sansa Clip+ is the shit. Dropped mine in a can of paint 4 years ago... still working. I used to just download directly from the respective podcast sight as well. Lately though I've been using a program called Gpodder. I find it works pretty well.

Here are the podcasts I listen to:
Risk - amusing risque storytelling, hit or miss.
This American Life - they always dig up interesting stories
You Made it Weird - one of the few comedian hosted podcasts that I listen to.
Smart People Podcast - wide ranging guest list, all being experts in their respective field. hit or miss
Savage Lovecast - sex advice podcast. Often amusing and informative.
    Radiolab - consistently mindblowing
Nerdist - I'll listen depending on the guest.
The Joe Rogan Podcast - I skip all the comedian guest episodes, which are generally just BS sessions (nothing wrong with that, but they tend to cover a lot of the same ground). I stick to the MMA related ones and when he brings in non-comedian guests.
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History - The gold standard for history podcasts. A must listen. By far the most well researched thing you'll probably ever listen to. Brings history to fucking life. So good.
Comedy Bang Bang - hit and miss but when it hits it's fucking hilarious.
Chewin' It With Kevin and Steve - Just a BS session podcast, but they have good stories and they're funny.

There's lots of others I've tried and dropped. I've been pretty steady on these ones though.
    GiggidyGee says thanks for this.

Are you using Rockbox? Have you ever used yours with any kind of amp or DAC?
