I recently won a 360 elite and I would like to know what I can do with it. I really don't game any more and things like using it as a media extender are more interesting to me. I've got it setup and connected to my vista media center box and it works great except no netlfix support:| What else can I do? Any way of avoiding having to pay for a gold member account?
Turn Your Xbox 360 into a Streaming Netflix Player - Feature - Lifehacker Tversity also works well for sharing media to the 360.
Give it to me (mine RROD'd and waiting on shipping box) and I'll give you mine. Then you can fix it and learn ooooh so much about how the RROD affects the xbox. Seriously though, I don't have the xbox gold either as most of my friends that play online got a ps3 after i got my xbox. I use my xbox just for streaming movies from my pc and listening to music while working in the basement. Slickdeals just had tversity for free and I did get the exe so check it out - it might be available. Edit: found this on SD http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?t=1551209 Never heard of it before but sounds like it's worth checking out for $20.
im throwing another vote for sell it. If you don't play games, not much use for it. I mean media streaming is cool and all, but so is money (also give tweakers 1st shot lol)
I'm with the Mayor on this. Just sell it, and spend the money where you would actually like to (say, on your VW, for instance).
Lol you guys are funny. The media extender functionality alone is enough to keep it! As far as selling it and putting it towards my VW, money isn't the issue. Find me a place in CA that is willing to custom restore it the way I want it and I'll put it in the shop asap!
Maybe try Yelp. If you're going to take it to a shop, start small. Have them work on a couple small things first so you don't get too invested in them. If you're happy, proceed with caution. But I bet a lot of the stuff you want to fix/restore, you could do yourself. It'd be a fun experience and you could write a nice picture filled thread for us on T3D
Dude, softmod the drive with firmware hack. Is as old as the system. thats how I mod mine EDIT: Theres a hack for netflix streaming without paying for live..
No, it's registered as non use or what ever it's called. I don't have the time or energy to work on it myself, I've got too many home projects that I need to complete.
