^^i totally dig the old tune, dunno what it would classified under because it doesnt sound like funk or entirely soul/jazz, sounds like a combination of both which is weird. i was wondering who that was.. usually if i here some good classic soul vocals in the music i listen to, i ALWAYS backtrack and research the original songs the sample comes from.. its usually something ive never heard before.. ive discovered alot of good soul music because of it.
dave owen - short sighted PURE Summer vibing on the liquid tip. and a nice nighttime roller on the smooth vibe tip. Dave Owen - Simpleton
The Avett Brothers.
Tool - 10,000 Days album - I have it blasting while I get ready for work and my boyfriend is out playing golf. He doesn't like my music ....I don't think the neighbors do either.
The brand new heavies - I dont know why (kenny dope remix) Nice, chillax, funky jazz soul summer tune, based off an old jackson 5 track.
Brand New Heavies are fucking STAPLE Also, the new Mount Kimbie album just came out. The last two EPs were fantastic and the full length album is easily album of the year. From "Maybes EP" ..and from the new EP

relaxing away to this summer tune, BUZZ feat Roy Ayers - Everybody loves the sunshine (love the original too) http://soundcloud.com/sunny/b-u-z-z-feat-roy-ayers-everybody-loves-the-sunshine and phil tangent - lunar
It's raining so it's a mix of Jazz (Ahmad Jahmal, Coltrane, Horace Silver, etc) and Rainymood.com to bring the outside in.
This band reminds me of Yes:
